My 07 had some low speed chatter. I drained and refilled it with the Dextron LS and it fixed it.

Yes, it is the GM LS gear oil. You'll need two to fill it. I always recommend getting three just in case you need more or spill some. We sell it so if you're interested just give us a call or send us an email.

Yes buy three. You will need a cheap transfer pump to get the fluid in (Harbor Freight about $4.00) which means you will loose some fluid in the pump and tubing. I used about 1/4 of the third bottle.

Now I am having second thoughts about wasting my time and money doing this again on my wifes car.

Mine really didn't make a clunk...it was more like grinding/groaning. Maybe the clunk is actually the end links on the sway bar or the axle nuts being loose.

Thanks everyone for the input
Took my 08 Coupe to the dealer and they put in the new fluid that everyone recommended- I must say it made a huge difference in the sound. I could not believe a fluid change could quite my car but it sure did.

According to the service department manager at Watson Chev in Tucson where I had the differential fluid change done it is not going to cause any damage if you do not have the fluid changed but is strictly to get rid of the jerking, chatter and clunking.
I had it done over a year and around 5k miles ago on my 2007 that had around 3k miles on it at that time and it fixed all the above symptoms immediately and they have not come back.

My Corvette only dealer buys the fluid w/o the additive and then adds two bottles. I was getting some chattering when turning right from a stop on My 09. I took it in this week and he drained and refilled the diff using the additive. I did 4 or 5 figure 8's with a lot of popping and chattering, but now, no more noise.
