Soon our C6 won't be the newest generation, how does that make you feel?

While I enjoy having the latest generation of corvettes I look forward to the C7's coming out. As we look back, each generation of the corvettes has brought something new to us, some of it good, some not so good but each generation has brought something to the table.
I expect the C7 will do the same. Some will love it, some won't but in the end it will continue to move us forward with the greatest sports car ever made!

Looking forward to buying a C7 whenever forum dealer discounts start showing up.

I remember when the C4 came out. I thought that the styling was not an improvement over the C3. I'm thinking if the Jalopnik renderings become reality then the C5 & C6 will be a popular generations for a long time.

Well if they do to the C7 what they did to the C6 (almost Z06 power) for the same MSRP as the out going C5, then who would pass that up because of "tail lights" - that's just

Mixed feelings. On the one hand, the C6 is just a beautiful design and I like just about everything about my car incl. the color. And no one ever really likes everything about a car, so this is pretty darned good as far as I'm concerned.
But I also want to see the C7. And, I want to see it succeed wildly, if possible. To do that means it has to be really great---inside, outside, performance, fuel economy, improvements, etc. And if that happens, all or most of it, that makes it a very attractive car to all, which includes me.

Having the 'latest-greatest' has never been a motivator for me. It depends what the C7 is and what my needs and desires are. Even if the C7 is the sh#t it doesn't diminish the C6. IMO the C6 is a strong performance car (and can be modified for more) and it has clean, 'classic' lines that will stand the test of time.
On a less optimistic note looking to the C7 and beyond, government is forcing the demise of the V8 power plant. The Corvette engine is down-sized....the venerable 427 will he history. While technology can compensate to a point, at its core this disturbing trend is not performance-driven. While fuel economy is a valid consideration sheer performance should be the guiding design principle for Corvette....not arbitrary government impositions. Given the current government/administration mindset and the EPA's virtually unchecked ability to rule our lives in-time the Corvette will IMO degenerate into a 4 and 6-cylinder forced induction power plant.

I remember when the C6 came out and the popup lights were removed. I thought “man, what’s up with that?”…..I now own a C6 and think it’s beautiful. I’ll probably roll my eyes when the C7 comes out but I will grow to like it. I attended a vette show recently that had all the generations. They are each special in their own way.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I look forward to the C7. Want to see what improvements GM has instore for the Vette. I wont rush out and buy one the first year just to have the latest and greatest. The C7 will have to be pretty impressive to get me to trade. My 07 is my favorite car I have ever had. It has been pretty close to perfect. And that is saying something when considering the performance.
Of course I felt the same about my C5 back in 05 when the C6 came out. Went to the Dealer just to check it out and ended up buying one 2 weeks later. So ya never know.

Shortly after we got married, I bought a used 1967 instead of a new 1973. I could have afforded either, but I bought the 1967 because I thought (and still do think) it was the better car.
So obviously, I'd be happy to keep our 2009 if I think it is better overall for us than a C7.
OTOH, I'd like to see the C7 be a better car; that's best for everyone.

I agree...GM went bankrupt.....as for gM, I am not sure who is running it. The government is not all that transparent with who is in what position of power for what reasons......rest assured though, the government is protecting their investment, just not for the reasons you, and I, would expect.....

I'm just glad there is going to be a C7.
Hopefully it will move the model forward and be a great car.
When they make one that can outperform either of my C6s (and look as good or better), I'll take a look at it.
In the meantime, I'm enjoying my vettes.

From the picts I have seen, the C7 looks cool, and similar to the C6. I will be envious of the new interior, but with GM's poor track record w the vette's interior, I'm sure it will be cheaply made.
