Rhinoplasty Before And After Pictures
Bought a REALLY nice, loaded 3LT 2006 convertible last week. 19,500 original miles. Velocity Yellow/Black. Clean as a pin. Nearly perfect car, EXCEPT....
Some FOOL, early in the car's life, had drilled and mounted the front license bracket. They drilled 3 holes right through the bumper fascia.
It was almost a deal breaker for me. I almost passed on the car, but it was so nice otherwise, I bought it anyway.
Couldn't live with the bracket and/or the holes, so I took the car to my buddy's body shop on Tuesday morning. Picked it up today, Wednesday, afternoon.
Looks GREAT. I'm happy. My nose job was a success.
Still can't figure why someone would do this.........
Pics attached. The first two are the car with the hideous bracket and even more hideous chrome "crossed flags" license plate on the front. The next pic shows the holes with the bracket removed.
The final two picture are the repaired/repainted bumper fascia.

May have been the dealer that did that. I can't imaginie anyone that actually owned the car doing it. Anyway, nothing a good body shop can't take care of. Looks Great!

The history of this car shows that it was delivered to a dealership in New Jersey in about December of 2005. NJ is a two license plate state.
BUT, the car was first titled with about 40 miles on it here in Florida about 2 months after that, Feb. of 2006. So, it was obviously shipped to Florida and sold here new. It's been here since.
Florida is a one license state, so I can't imagine a Florida dealer, or any owner for that matter, drilling and mounting the front tag frame.

Looks like the holes were never there. Nice job.

Still have the old Corvettes and the 56 Chevy hot rod.
Thinking back over the years, I've sorta always had a "newish" Corvette too.
Had an 88 coupe, then a 92 coupe, then the 00, then the 01, and now the 06. The new cars are so nice to take on trips/cruises with the various clubs.

Wow!! That turned out awesome! Beautiful.
If it ever passed thru a Carmax, they religiously mount front plates on almost all cars, even Vettes. I passed on a couple of cars because of the drilling and Carmax paper plates mounted up front. They told me "It's policy." AND to top it all off, the plates were mounted crooked and off center.

They sell metal license plate brackets that mount UNDER the car for that very reason. Some even "flip up/flip down".
PS: Notice that these holes were drilled off center too.

How were the holes fixed? My wife got a new '12 Mercedes that the dealer put the front plate on too. I'm having a clear bra put on it this weekend and I would like to fill the two 1/8" and use touch up paint. The holes are very small but still.....

I know that they fill the holes with some special "urethane" compatible stuff, then sand, finish, prime, and paint (3 different colors for Velocity Yellow) including a tinted clear coat.
My holes were about 3/16"---1/4" diameter. I wouldn't have been happy doing the method you're thinking of using.
Depends on the color too. Anything on yellow in that area would have been REAL visible and noticeable.
Darker colors.....more hidden areas.... you might get away with filling and using touch-up paint.
FYI, cost me $300.00 to have this done. Well worth it in my situation.
