Default Tornado and Hail in DFW

Well, my baby isn't pristine anymore. I knew it would stay new, since it is my DD, but I thought it would last more than 3 months before it was messed up.

The hail here this afternoon was incredible.

At least there were only a few dents in the hood and a spider webbed windshield. The fiberglass and plastic deflected the hail better than most of the cars in the lot. Lots and lots of dents and busted out windows.

I saw video of 18 wheelers being tossed around like toys. Bad. I'm happy your damage is "minimal", and hope all in the area are OK.

Sorry to see that, my wife left hers in the garage to day and drove our Silvarado, no damage though.

Sorry about the damage. It must have been a terrible sick feeling watching the hail hit your new baby.

There's a guy here with a C5 that has a glass top. A piece of went right through it and left a 3" diameter hole in the top.

Yes it was. I am a technical trainer and had customers in a class, none of whom are from the south. They had never experienced this kind of weather and were freaking out. I was running back and forth from my car to them throughout the storm.

Then, when the worst passed over (freight train sound) we had to head into the tornado safe area of the building. Those pics were taken awhile after it had passed, once the safety officer let us go. There must have been a ton of hail for that much to still be there when I got there.

Storms just missed us. Tornado touched down about 10 miles away from my house and one might have hit my business yard. Will find out in the morning. Vetts are fine thank goodness.

Glad that it is minor damage to your vette, it could easily have been much worse. Good luck with the repairs.

Sorry to hear about that. Hope your insurance company does the right thing.

We've had hail here twice in the last 6 months. I don't have a garage, but fortunately my '08 was under the carport at home both times.

Dude sorry to hear about your car. What part of Frisco did this happen. I'm near Preston and Hedgcoxe and we did not get any hail at all.

It wasn't in Frisco. I was at work near DFW Airport. I just got home, daughter said the hail here was very small. Looks like the other vehicles are okay.

I work near DFW, and can see the runways from my company's parking lot. The airplanes were all parked on the runways. I wonder what kind of damage they took. There were alot of them out there and it hit directly over the airport.

I wish mine were okay. It appears that there is more damage than I first thought. Once it dried off on the drive to the dealership, the windshield was flexing and popping, so I decided to go ahead and drop it off and not wait for Thursday when the adjustor is going to look at it.

When I got it into the service bay under the lights, we could see cracks all over the hood (replace), the roof (replace) and the rear deck (replace). The paint was even ruptured in several places. They said all of that is composite plastics and they can't repair it...all of it must be replaced.

I hope I don't have to go to war with the insurance company over this.

They may say car is totalled and pay you for what they think its worth which should be good for a 3 month old car. No GAP ins I guess?
