Default Glove Box Latch

I tried to open my glove box and the latch broke off. It was not locked, but it did not simply pop open when I tried it. I pulled on the latch a second time and that is when it broke. The only thing in there was the Nav. DVD case and it was not binder the latch. I was able to pull on the door enough to get my fingers in and grab the case to pull it out.
Any idea how I can open it now so I can change the latch?

This is a common issue. Gooberment Motors used inferior plastics. There is a thread on how to open and R&R the part. Use search. You go underneath and grab a small metal part with a needle nose and it pops open.

Five minute open and R&R.

I used some JB weld on the disintegrated plastic with a small price of paper clip embedded. So far so good. Why buy a new part since it will disintegrate?!?!?!
