C6 Door LED Reflectors
I came up with my own way of lighting the C6 door reflector. I test fitted a set of 12 SMD 5050 LED's to show myself it is going to work and look good. I did order a pair of round panel LED's for the final install. Here are a few pictures I took. Mounting of the LED's will be done with the door panel off. Strip of plastic glued to the panel where the LED will mount to. I will add a set of "puddle" lights to each door while I have the door panel off. The last picture is of the LED's I am going to use as I did not quite like the square pattern of the test fitted LED's.

I am looking for some help tying into the door power. I want to locate the power that comes on with the courtesy lights. If someone knows which wire to look for it would help.

Update...
Door LED's arrived and I have pulled the DS door off. Last night I attached the plastic support and the LED to the door panel. The LED's panel had to be trimmed to clear the reflector clips that hold it in the door. I just put it to my grinder and flattened it on both sides. I used a 2 part plastic epoxy to glue the support to the door panel.

The wiring of the door LED was interesting. I was hoping to tap into the door lighting but had an issue I was not happy with. The door power I was going to use is for the switch lighting. The shop manual calls it LCD Backlighting Lamp Control. Even though using this door power would work I decided to use the footwell courtesy power for one reason. The door power showed low voltage even when the lights were off. The footwell power shut off the power totally. The wiring from the footwell to the door was really easy. I fished the wiring through the door. I did all this wiring without splicing or cutting any of the stock wiring.

Finally after 8 hours over two days it is finished. The lighting transforms the look of the car at night. Pictures were taken at dusk. The last picture was taken in my garage in total darkness.

Door reflector lights
Great information and input. This forum rocks. I want to install door reflector lights in my 2013 GS and wonder what light you finally got happy with and where you got them.

It's been a year and the lights are working perfectly. If I was to do another car I would us the 40mm round angel eye lights. No modification needed to fit the opening. You would still have to glue a plastic bar behind the opening to attach the light to.

I can't even imagine how pissed "Andrew6" is going to be that you made this before he did.

I have your same car. I converted the stock marker lights to strip LEDs. In a line of corvettes, mine stands out at night. Gotta love the modern LEDs. I did a DIY somewhere here as well. Nice job on the doors. I'm trying to con my friend into letting me convert his C7 marker lights. It would be bad ***.
