Default chrome wheel type?

These are the chrome wheels on the 08 vert that I purchased yesterday. The car has 5000 orig mi and these are the factory wheels rpo code QX3. I like them but I thought the 08's came with the gumby wheels. Anyone know anything about the wheels on an 08?
Thank you

Thank you, there are threads here showing these wheels on o8,s and others showing the Gumby style also on 08's. Obviously you could order Z06 wheels on a narrow body c6 as well.

Um, no. You could not order Z06 style wheels on a regular C6 in 08. The wheels in the OP's picture are the original 5 spoke style and yes, Gumby's were definately available in 08 (came standard on my Pace car edition).

QX3 started out the '08 year, then there was a time when there was a choice of those or the Gumbys, then the QX3 ran out and the year was finished with Gumbys.

chrome wheels for '08 WERE the older-style as pictured. gumbies WERE available in '08 but only as polished, forged, wheels, not chrome. some have claimed (and they could be right) that very late in the '08 model run, chrome gumbies became available. I'll let others who actually got them on their new '08s speak.

should be noted tho that some polished wheels when new are pretty close to looking chrome as long as there's not a side-by-side comparo. then, it usually becomes obvious which is chrome and which isn't.

Now that makes sense. My 08 was an early production car like 9/07. Thank you all. BTW I happen to love this forum and all the great people who are willing to share their knowledge.

As I posted earlier, my current '08 vert came with the chrome option. My first '08 was a JSB coupe that I bought new and it had the polished gumbys. So yes, you could get either the polished gumbys or the QX3 chrome option.

In 2008, QG7 was the code for the highly polished "Gumby" wheels.

5412 sets were sold. 2009 was the last year for the QG7 wheels and

only 1989 sets were sold.

My 08 sales brochure lists the polished forged wheel for 08 and shows a picture of the Gumby.
