Special Thanks to Matt Croft & Marc Cote at the Dealership for coordinating a LOT of the parts arrival, coming to my house on a Saturday to ‘fix’ my car when the ‘PAL’(faulty module) drained my battery, and the transportation of my car to a local shop for some of the work listed above.

Now………. The Pics!

WHEW!!!!

Why “Blue Valkyrie” (Val for short) you might ask?????
Well, there are a few different reasons that all kinda/sorta cross…….so here it goes.
1.). My car color is "Supersonic Blue" & the XB-70 which you may or may not be aware is/was the 1st ever supersonic bomber.
2.). The plane was made by North American - a company my Grandfather worked for during the time when the plane was being developed.
3.) My Air Force ROTC Detachment’s Honor Guard unit is named "Valkyrie Honor Guard" - representin' Det 305 from Louisiana Tech University! = GO DAWGS!!!
4.) Only 2.5 XB-70's were ever made - 2 XB-70A's & the XB-70B was stopped halfway into production due to the program being cancelled - Mine will be the XB-70C (look closely @ the custom emblem made up with the 'C' done in Corvette font! = SWEEEEEET
5.). Finally, In Norse Mythology (I know, I know…..what?!?!?!) The word 'Valkyrie' means 'Chooser of the Slain' - which would apply to various other sorts of 'lesser' auto's that I will be 'slaying' on the streets of Las Vegas - mustangs included ;P

I hope y’all enjoy the pictures. I am DEFFINITLY enjoying getting to know my “VAL”

What a great theme! I have been an aviation enthusiast all my 58 years of life and the XB-70, in my opinion, is the single most beautiful aircraft ever built. There is only one of the two built still in existence. It's at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. But you certainly already knew that. It's worth making the trip there just to see the Valkyrie. Beautifully done corvette. Kudos to you!! :thumbs

You need to bring it here to Dayton and get a picture with the only surviving XB-70. I am sure we could get them to open the hangar up for a picture. The aircraft is on display in the experimental hangar of the USAF Museum. You would really dig it if you have never been before.
