Default I wasted two hours... Grrr.

Detailed my Vette all morning before the temps got above 95. Got it all ready for a nice waxing session tomorrow. Went out to dinner later and wouldn't you know it I got caught on the expressway going home under a tiny raincloud that poured rain for at most 10 minutes. Now I gotta start all over again. I was not in a good mood when I got home.

And to make matters worse, I live about 2 miles from the stupid cloud and didn't get a drop at my house (and we need it.)

I don't get it. Why would you be driving it before waxing. Once you drove it, wouldn't you have to wash it again before waxing anyways?

I feel better now, I thought I was the only one that happened to. Happened to me the other day, I dont do many shows, but I was on my way to one the other night and drove through a 1/4 mile rain cloud. My car was spotless before, but when I go to the show I had to get the Quik Detailer out and work, sucks, but it is what it is.

Well it doesn't get THAT dirty in a few miles. A little Z6 would prep it up just fine. Not now, though...

Isn't that par for the course....you wash the car then it rains? I can't see being too upset about it.

Meh....Anytime I have a chance to play with my Vette, whether it be cleaning it, waxing it, or driving it..I consider quality time....Besides, all my rides are black...and trying to keep a black ride clean makes as much sense as wipin' yer butt before yer done taking' a poop.....But I do my best to keep 'em all clean all the time

I have to agree with Cody. Even a few miles will get some brake dust or other dirt on the rear and elsewhere. And around here you will have a bug hit the front before you leave the driveway. You won't necessarily see it but it's there and will show up on the pad and cloth when waxing.

I plan my semi-annual Rejex job so that the car will stay in the garage for 2 days. I start off getting it clean and then finish before I drive it. I understand about not wanting to work in the heat of the day and I sometimes work early in the morning and late at night to get it done. I never start the Rejex coating if there is any chance it won't have overnight to cure. If something comes up that I am forced to drive the car I understand that it will mean at least a full wash and dry before continuing.

Most people would think I wish that was my biggest problem, but it takes a Vette owner to understand the pain of it all.

My detailing and wax sessions are done the same day. I've had a black cloud over me most of my life. It was lifted a few years ago when I met my fiance. Now even a rainy day on my car lets me spend more time caressing and cleaning her body panels!!!

I thought that was Corvette comandment #11.

You finished before it reached 95? Done by 8 am huh? 107 here yesterday.

Just washed mine and my sons VW GTI this morning. Time to go kill some bugs so I can do it again.

I'm inclined to agree with you but you could have used a different analogy. It's very early here.
