Splsh guards or not
Any opinions on splash guards on a C6 base coupe? I originally thought no way, but after seeing some pics of the splash guards, they look pretty good. 2012 Base Coupe, Torch red

First thing I put on mine. They should come from the factory with them IMO.

I used to put mudflaps on new cars back in the 60's. Then I learned better. They are certainly not needed and look silly, IMHO.

No way, waste of money, do not like the look and for the narrow body coupe not needed.

Definitely get the GM guards. They actually improve the look of the car by "finishing" off the wheel wells.

They do help prevent paint damage to the bottom of the car, especially if you drive on rural roads.
They do serve a purpose and are functional. I wouldn't drive any car in my local driving environment without them.

We put aftermarket ones on our 2006, the first day of ownership. They looked ugly but did the job.
When we traded for the 2009, someone mentioned that stone chips on a Corvette won't rust. And the areas that might get chipped, will be covered by the guards if you install them later. So we didn't put them on our 2009. 48k miles so far, there is some minor erosion of the paint behind the wheel wells but it's so minor that by the time I drive home from the car wash, it's already obscured by road dust.
Also, I'm not sure how guards might change airflow around the wheel wells. Possible issues with brake cooling, aero lift, and aero drag. Since they are a GM product, I wouldn't expect any major problems. But still...
