Which state has the best roads?

I don't travel much in Missouri north of I-70, except on the interstates north out of kansas City, but we have some pretty good roads in south Missouri. Sure, you will find a county road that is need of repair every once in a while, but overall I'm able to really enjoy my stiff suspension Z06, with wide tires, to the fullest.

Every time I'm up there in any of my vehicles I say to my self how lucky I am to live in this part of the world.

Virginia has some really nice curvy, well paved backroads.
I'd vote Michigan for the worst. I don't think I would have bought my Vette if I still lived in this state.

I'm sure that's not what he meant when referencing the bay area. Covered most of California last summer, and thought most of the roads were great except near LA, which are awful.

Awesome responses, thank you. I guess I will start heading south, since that seems to be the general consensus as far as roads go.
What about points of interest? What would you suggest as stopping points in your area? For the Columbia/Rocheport Missouri area we have wineries, trails (Katy Trail) and the Missouri River.

The problem here is the interpretation of the question - "where are the best roads?". Some people are talking about the actual condition of all the roads. I, and some others, are talking about the best DRIVING roads. Most of my favorite roads are in the southwest - great weather, little traffic, higher speed limits, and more twisty mountain roads.

The area around Mountain Home is very scenic(including a ferry ride across Bull Shoals Lake) and Blanchard Springs Caverns just north of Mountain View, AR is well worth a weekend trip.

The only nice memorable roads were in Tennessee when I was moving to texas from pennsylvania. Arkasas roads were the absolute worst, as my truck and trailer were bucking like an untamed bronco.
Texas roads are nice as long they're not working on them lol, there's a lot of concrete roads here due to the heat which is pretty nice, the asphalt just melts apparently
