Default scuff marks!!!

I took my car to the dealer and the pig that worked on my car did not used any plastic to cover the seat or the floor of the car. they gave me the car with scuff marks all over the plastic door, door frame and grease all over my seat (Tan color), called the dealer and told them this is the second time this happen, last time I talked to the general manager about the same problem, he said he will talk to the mechanic and offered me to clean the car. I told him that I was going to clean it myself (I like to detail my car myself) now the story is repeating again and I can't removed some of the scuff marks, any idea or recommendations? I tried the white eraser (Mr magic) and it worked but no 100% and some of the marks are still there. Thanks

Carefully try some Goo Gone in the orange plastic bottle that says safe for plastics. I had some black marks along the backrest at my belt line that I couldn't get off with any of the normal cleaning products. I actually thought that my belt abraded the leather and removed some of the color. Wasn't sure if the Goo Gone would work or create more of an issue but figured I would probably replace the cover eventually anyway if the didn't work. The good Gone worked. Just use it sparingly and I would go over it with water or another leather cleaner afterward.

Take it back to the dealer and let him clean it.

Yes it will. I use it on the doors all the time. Buy the 303 wipes. Great for under the hood too.

I had scuff marks on my 09 with cashmere interior and the Magic Eraser worked but it took some elbow grease and time but they are completely gone now! Keep trying.

If the dealer can't clean it to your satisfaction, tell them you want replacement parts for the ones they damaged.

  • Wash and clay bar the scuffed area
If that doesn't pick up the scuff material and the clear coat is damaged then:
  • Wet-sand with 2000 grit sandpaper
  • Polish the sanding marks out
The last step is preferably done with a machine polisher (dual-action or rotary) but can be done with hand compounds.

Also, don't ever go back to that dealership. Their customer service seems to be lacking.

Magic eraser used GENTLY will get 90% of most scuffs off followed by Goo Gone to get off the last 10%. I've only had a few light scuffs but this method has removed every one perfectly.

After re-reading the OP, I am sure that he isn't trying to clean crap off of his doors and sills and seat.
