Default ArmorAll Brake dust repelent - hahaha

IMHO this stuff must be a gag that you play on the uninformed. I cleaned and dried my wheels then applied per the instructions. Let it bake on for a day in the AZ heat. Drove it about 20 miles on the freeway and they look worse than they would have without it.

Maybe it works better on chrome but if you have the silver painted wheels save your money.

The product is called ArmorAll Wheel Protectant. I've used it on my wheels (silver painted) here in AZ for 2 years and it works like a charm. Get it, it works

Works like a champ on all my cars, are you sure you didn't use regular ArmorAll on the wheels?

Not in AZ but in PA but it works. Silver or gold (wrx), it works. It doesn't really completely repel but it makes it so easy to clean them when the does does stay.

It helps but if you think it's a cure - no. The only thing you can do is replace the pads.

I can kind of see what the OP is talking about. The dust sits on wheel, which is annoying. The magic is when you spray the hose on it, all of the dust washes off and the wheels look great. No need for scrubbing.

Agree. A wheel wax helps with clean up as well. When the time comes, I'll try a low dust brake pad.

Consider using a paint sealant instead (ie. Rejex).

AA contains silicones and not really the best for wheel care. Nothing , other than changing pads will remove dusting, but it will make cleanup easier. (wipes off with damp towel).

I used it on my 09 convertible with chrome wheels and it worked great. I just did not want to reapply every few months.

I Have a GS with Chrome wheels and applied AA wheel protectent traveled over a 100 miles and Wheels still look great, very little brake dust on wheels. you must remember to put a good amount on after you clean your wheels and let it set for at least 4 hrs, the longer the better.

My wheels stay spotless but the sides of my car get covered in brake dust.

I can go out and rinse the wheels (Chrome) and they are spotless again. I'll probably buy a case of it the next time just in case they discontinue...
