Here's a few eBay listings I found for you which seem to be in your price range and around Pittsburgh:

.
The economy has somewhat improved and most C6 sellers aren't desperate to sell especially early in the summer like now.

I've had the bait & switch happen as well. I simply tell them off & move on.

$37k was insanely high anyway. That is C6Z money.

People seem to have more confidence than last year. The deals don't seem near as good now. I bought my 11 GS Vert 362 days ago and got $15k off with GM card earnings/bonus/dealer cash, USAA rebate. Car was on the showroom floor for 6 months.

It's not a done deal until you sign the contract. Dealers can do what they want on used cars (and sometimes on new cars). I have not bought used for years, but when I did, I prefered to buy from and private seller.

Maybe just buy new from a Chevrolet dealer. You do not have to worry about carfax and you have the full warranty.

Carfax is not always accurate or complete.

So you're out about 20 bucks and a couple of minutes of phone work. You got off cheap. There are tons of Vettes out here and no,you can't buy a new Vert for 37 grand.I think you might find a newer then 07 one for that kind of money or close, but not new.

I agree the initial asking price was high, and also enjoyed the comment from 'phileaglesfan' re how Corvette magazine would have viewed the purchase. I get the mag as well and have thought the same thing; it's like they don't want to ever tell anyone they have paid too much...some of the stories published would seem to not be the case.

You could print out some nearby local sales ads, NADA and Kelly prices and then use those to negotiate? Likely best to just move on and forget about it, you'll find another one soon enough ...

Default Don't buy there

Since I wouldn't recommend buying at this place, run the VIN at your local GM dealership to see what the service history is. If there are ANY marks against the car, send the report to the salesman at Lexus and offer him $32k for his car. Lets them know what you think of the vehicle.

BTW, as a general rule, if I am buying used, I buy a Chevy from a Chevy dealer and a Lexus from a Lexus dealer. Then there is never a question about the car since the dealership is regarded as a subject matter expert for their own nameplate.

Maybe even the year after next. Run, not walk, away from that car. Ridiculously over-priced from the get-go. Be patient and you'll find the right deal.

Look, they don't call them Stealerships for nothing. If I were you, I would just walk away and do not go back. There are lots of nice cars out there - you don't need to deal with some a$$wipe stealership.

My grandson worked for a local Toyota dealer here on Long Island that always has a few Vettes on their used car lot, he said they buy them at auction, do you really want to buy an auctioned Vette? Many one owner, private sellers out there who will give you the history of the car, keep looking and good luck!
