At what age
I had three of these At what age going at one time in different forums and I tried to respond to about every two or three posts on each one personally plus I was somewhat active on three other hotrod related forums. I have had serious health problems over the last seven plus years and they kinked in very seriously the last three. In addition to recovering from a heart attack followed within a month by three strokes a little over three years. I am 1 1/2 years out of a wheelchair and after using a walker for four months I now use my custom walking stick which I will need forever because I have Parkinson's desease and Rheumatoid Arthritis. About six weeks ago a new blockage and about six half grown blockages developed, Ialso have copd and I am getting fluid in my lungs and in the last two weeks I have almost lost the ability to walk. I have never given up though, setting three landspeed records under the sanction of the E.C.T.A. on the Maxton and the Ohio Miles. I have been prepping my black 21,000 mile C5 for dragracing the last few weeks and my daily driver is a screaming 1937 Chevy hotrod truck which I run with open street rod headers.
Thank al of you that have kept this thread going, to date there has been approximately 83,000 views of threads I have subscribed to, 2,900 replies to these threads and I have made around 2,600 posts and enjoyed reading all of the replies and making the post. Now I have come up with some real dogs also so there were lots not so successful but I have had to slow down. I am prepping my SS Silverado, 5830 lb. truck to go back to Wilmington and run the Ohio Mile next April, God willing. Last fall and winter when my 87 yr. old Dad and Mother became very ill my Corvette friends aent messages and post offering their prayers. We lost Mother in Feb. and Dad is seriously ill with congestive heart desease and copd. He has never talked about the war but we have done research of the Tenth Mountain division and found out he got a letter of decoration sent to his family from the President and two Bronze stars for heroim above and beyond the call of duty in the mountains of Italy as a .30 cal. machine gunner. I ask that you remember him and all of our veterans on this their day.
Inside of every old man is a young man wondering "What the hell happened", My young man hollers everytime I look in the mirror after losing 27 lbs. and halving lots of still brown hair but the rest of my body doesn't know it.

1st, 1980, I was 31. 2nd, 1964 vert, I was 32. 3rd, 1982, I was 33. Long hiatus to Hawaii with no Vette. Now 47, the 4th, 2006, the best Vette by far and scares me a bit every time I get on it (640 HP). These cars are built so well now compared to the cars of the 1980s.....now the wife wants her own (vert).

Bought my first 'Vette in 1969 for $1000 @ 22 yrs.
Sold it after for $1100. I had installed a new motor too.
This all took place during the first energy crunch in 1974.

After spending 4 years in London, in the Air Force (Feb 57-Feb 61) and seeing so many neat small/fast sport cars, once I got discharged, and living in St Louis, I ordered a new 62 white with red interior convertible.
Had fuel injection installed later on. It was a 4 speed manual, with a 411 rear end. I was just 25 years old and I think the car cost close to $3,800. This Aug I traded my 2010 GS coupe for a 2012 GS convertible, making it, the 9th Vette that I have owned during my life time.

This thread ran for several months under C4 general heading but I got to thinking a lot of you haven't seen it, so tell us at what age you acquirred your first, what model it was and if you don't mind how much it cost and how you paid for it. There was over five thousand people viewed it and several hundred posted with most emailing their post through me which I try to respond to each one.

I have had a lot of cars. 67 Mustang, 69 Camaro, several Trans Ams, then switched to BMWs. I have had quite a few BMW products over the years, but I have always wanted a Corvette. So about two months ago I sold my two BMWs and purchased my first Corvette at 49 years old, a 2013 GS.
I really like the car and I am still getting used to the size of it and how low you sit in the car. I will soon do some track days with the car, which I have drag raced, autocrossed, or taken my cars to the road course for enjoyment.
