John that was a great write up about our trip, the staff Rick, Victor, Rico, Stan, Jeff, Todd and Donna are amazing and work with you one on one. I didn't think that I would be able to do level 2 after my accident last year but I said I was going to give it a try and it worked out for me and gave me some confidence back that I had lost.

Now about John and Lisa they are great folks to be around, and as Lisa said we drove and laughed and drove some more, we all had a very good time and gained more experience. We also meet up with forum member Rob Morgan from Dallas that John and I had took Level 1 with in June 2010. It was great seeing Rob as he was doing Level 2 also. All in all it was a great trip for all of us and will be back in 2013.

No, my buddy and I are taking the wives and attending July 23-25. I can hardly wait as the anticipation builds. Wives ride with the instructor or can utilize the masseuse, pool or just relax.

ha you haven't met her. I can't afford mods for my vette because of all the damage she causes to her car.

I did. I have only been off track once in four visits and that was a roll off in turn seven. That said, I like insurance!

I bought the insurance too. It can cost a lot to fix these cars so it's a good deal.

When I took the the 3-day Level 1 class at SM last October, one couldn't "buy down" the $8K deductible on the
track-use insurance if you were attending the class via the ZR1 purchase promotion. Only those not driving the
ZR1s could buy it down in whole or in part...

I guess it's a different "risk" if one is paying for the class fees...?

Same deal Gary. Level 2 is Z06s (I think 3 of them) and the rest Grand Sports. I did Lvl 1 third day in a ZR1 since I bought a ZR1 - no buy down. Lvl 2 I could.

I was going to attend July 16, but it wasn't going to be fun for my wife, so we're going on a road trip to Colorado instead. As far as the insurance, Donna told me that there has been only ONE incident outside the road racing classes where a fellow hit the gas instead of the brakes . And the damage was 2 grand. She also said the track is pretty wide, so easy to correct, unless doing something really stupid. And even then, it's pretty hard to cause any damage higher than even the lowered deductible, so not worth it to me. I never ride or drive over my head, so that helps too .

I bought the insurance in case someone hit me. That way, no matter what took place, I was only out 2k.

For 300 dollars, I did not want to ruin the rest of my trip, should something take place.

I did have one person go off on all four, right it front of me at the stop sign. Went right a little too soon, and came swerving back on to the track.

"If you received your certificate after purchasing a GS, Z06 or ZR1, and have yet to use it, please please consider using it. You will be surprised how much you DON'T know about driving."

What certificate for a GS purchaser? I have not heard of this offer for GS purchasers.
