Default 2013 60th Anniversary 427 Convertibles Arrive at Callaway

Two 2013 60th Anniversary 427 Convertibles were just dropshipped to Callaway Cars, Old Lyme from the Bowling Green Assembly Plant.
Stay tuned for photos of the conversion process with Callaway's technicians upfitting them to Callaway Corvette SC652 configuration.

427 cubic inches, 652 horsepower, 620 lb-ft torque packaged in a beautiful, limited-edition, supercharged convertible.

Are those the only two you plan on doing and will they be identical?

Those will be some pretty sweet rides, thanks for sharing

These are the first two 60th Anniv. 427 Corvettes which arrived to Callaway, with others on order through our authorized dealers

The cars will be built to the same Callaway-spec with our SC652 package.

Here is a rendering of how the cars will look, once completed

Chris,
I got to drive the SC652 at Stasek last weekend. All I can say is "Dang, that baby's fast. Unbelieveable." (thanks, Brent)
Wish I could have sprung for the SC652 on my new 60th 427. What a great ride.

It is always good to have something out of reach. Those beautiful, amazing machines will perform that function for me---- at least for a while...

David,

I am glad you got to drive one of our SC652 Callaway Corvettes! The additional torque over the SC606 you drove in Bowling Green, makes a huge - and noticeable difference, wouldn't you agree?

It's not too late to change your order to include the Callaway SC652 package, is it?

Default It's mine :-)

Hi Folks : Ok, I'll fess up and let you know that the first of those 427 Convertible 60th Anniversary SC652s to be built is mine. Elsewhere in the Corvette forum you'll see that I did the Engine Build Experience on this car back on April 26th at the Wixom Performance Build Center. What a fabulous experience and everyone with GM was WONDERFUL. The car will be shown at the July 8th CT Corvette Chapter show in Guilford.

And this isn't my first Vette. My 79 year old Dad actually has that one now, a 2007 Z51 6 speed Convertible in Monterey Red Metallic with Cashmere top and interior.

You gotta be on Cloud Nine right now. How long before you get that bad boy home? Post up pics when you do. Congrats on an awesome Vette!

Indeed on Cloud 9. Expect to get the car at the end of June. Goatdad asked if the cars would be identical. I highly doubt it as there are actually quite a few options through Callaway. In addition to the SC652 package, mine will have the short throw shifter, chrome exhaust slats, steering wheel, console group (shifter, ebrake, and console), c16 hood (I described that stripe layout and Callaway did the rendering), car cover, and 5 year extended warranty. I wish the c16 hood was CF and as light as the stock hood. It needed to be changed to fit the SC and it was either this or the exposed CF vented bump on the stock fiberglass hood. All in all, I actually think the C16 hood looks better than the CF bump or even the stock CF hood.

I was remiss in not mentioning the dealer that worked with me on this car, it's McDermott in CT. They've (Kevin Syombathy) been involved every step of the way. We had the car entirely mapped out within weeks of the 427 Convertible breaking cover on the web, my engine build was scheduled before the car could even be ordered, and the order was placed the first day it opened up to dealers.

I'd have to say there is a big difference. Part throttle was even amazing. This SC652 is one fantastic car. Adding that to the 60th 427 Vert would be an ultimate car. Congrats to those that are getting one. Due to economics 101, I'll have to wait.
