Is the 2013 Corvette a Ferrari for the 99%?

Melting Slicks
My next pickup will cost me more then my GS did. Maybe GM is making a mistake by not making a corvette a real low volume car and pricing it accordingly. While the corvette seems like a real value to me, it's plain to see others expect a much higher standard, but are they willing to pay for it?
You want a nose heavy car, drive a mustang and see what understeer really is like. The vette is very agile and balanced. It's very easy to drive on the track.

Drifting
Lower volume I'm sure is hurt margins a lot especially with the discounting.

Burning Brakes
It's funny because even if i could afford a Ferrari i'd still buy a vette, my mate had a 360 and it was embarrassing hanging out with him, everyone thinks you're a wa*ker, reving his gutless engine and slipping the clutch just to pull out of the kerb, then all this horrible racket going down the road which sounds like 100mph and he's doing about 30
All mouth and no trousers, when's the last time you saw a Ferrari guy do a burnout? Exactly.
People are blinded by the badge and don't actually look at the cars, Ferrari IMHO make awkward looking cars, the mid engine layout ruins the proportions, the bonnet ends up being too short and the **** is always wrong (have you looked at the **** on a Daytona? Man that was disappointing to see in the flesh).
The Americans do mid engined cars well, the Saleen S7, Mosler and GT40 all have great proportions.
IMHO the only good looking cars Ferrari have made are the 250GTO, 308/328, 288GTO and the F40.
Gimme a C5 Z any day

Safety Car
They compare the Corvette to Ferrari, BMW, and Audi and rag on how pi$$ poor the interior is. They fail to mention that the Vette costs thousands less. I’m tired of hearing the same old bs time after time.

Racer
Most people who have never owned a Ferrari or have never been fans of F1 don't really understand the heritage, or the reason Ferrari's are even sold. Ferrari is a race team, first and foremost. They sell cars to finance the team. It's a little more than that, but that's the heritage. They're no expense spared works of art, old adage, buy the car and they'll give you the motor. Which is ironic considering the motors are art in their own right, taking the 360 powerplant as an example. A 3.6 liter 40 valve V8 producing 400 horsepower entered service in 1999. Wow. Sure, it's not something that can't be done with a 5.7 liter with lifters and pushrods, but you have to admire the engineering. But really it's not about who has the best tech. There are plenty of examples of tech introduced in the corvette that eventually made it into Ferrari, fuel injection comes to mind I believe, but there have been others. It's about a very special heritage and in a way being a part of the downstream supporting the quintessential F1 team. So can C7 be the ferrari for the masses? It's an oxymoron from the start. Corvette doesn't need to be anything but Corvette. They have their own very different but storied heritage. Though the similarities between the new Ferrari F12 and the C7 are hard to ignore.
