Doesn't sound like air in the system to me. I ran across this many many times when I ran the service department at a Cadillac store. Pads aren't bedded in,seated in or what ever the heck you want to call it. On Cadillac if the rotors weren't SWIRLED with a scotch pad the pads would not seat. Also the pad material had a lot to do with it. Some of them COLD and backing down a driveway would kill you first time braking. You could push the pedal to the floor. If not SWIRLED even HOT you would not get enough grip to activate ABS. Slam on the brakes and SLOW to a stop is all you'd get. Sometimes after DAYS of driving and stopping white knuckled they'd finally start to grip. GM had a video tape on such and the PROPER way to turn rotors and then what kind of scotch pad on a air drill and swirling procedure. If anything its a PAD issue and or rotor finish issue or both. Just my 02cents worth. OH we had to do this on brand new rotors out of the box also. One other thing. We got to were we SWIRLED rotors on EVERTHING we did a brake job on. We handled,Isuzu,Cadillac,Oldsmobile and Mazda. Had some of these come in that other shops had done brakes and owners were very unhappy and scared to say the least.

Here's an even dumber question...did you wash the rotors prior to installation? Most come with oily/anti-rust coating not conducive to braking.

You can't completely flush out the old brake fluid without exercising the ABS circuits with a Tech 2 Tool but for all practical purposes you can still bleed the brakes at each corner. Unless you ingested air at the reservoir I wouldn't think a Tech 2 Tool would be needed to simply bleed the lines. I'd try bleeding the lines again and when bleeding the brakes take a mallet and tap the calipers to help dislodge any stubborn air bubbles.

I would clean the rotors with brake kleener and rough them up a bit, then rebleed the brakes and do the break in procedure again.

Spring Mountain runs HPS pads and I wasn't impressed with the stopping power, but they weren't overpowering when learning how to brake for balance to get the car to turn.

Danny I have a power bleeder if you want some help. Friday would be a good day for me. Just bring more of the new fluid you used and we can get them air free for sure.

Just to update the thread it looks like the pads were the problem. Hawk agreed to replace them for us. That's a first for me in the 3 years I've been selling pads.

I want a c6 after driving that 08

I knew it was a pad or rotor finish issue. Saw a lot of blue hairs with BIG eyes in Cadillacs after a brake job.

Thanks to JW and Hawk for taking care of this issue.

My car is good again.
