Someone said that spraying Pam on the nose of the car will keep the love bugs from making any problems.
I would think that it may be a little messy though.
I am suprised that we don't have a big love bug problem here in the Fort Myers / Cape Coral area ..... yet .... yet

Just keep a little bottle of water behind the seat and some VIVA papertowels or if afraid of them- some nice microfiber...
When you stop- clean them off with water/rag right away before they dry hard on the paint. They come off easiest then...
Dont get just the black parts off, get all the clear whitish guts too.
Keep the nose waxed - all Hate Bug season long (May & Sept)
You wont have any issues...
These guys dont have acid blood from the Alien movie.
It is more like Vinegar..
Get it off in 24hrs and you'll be ok, but honestly do it as soon as you stop, every time you drive.
PS- DONT DO PAM- its a M'Fer to get off if you let it dry

Go Canes!
I spray Pam on my boat when I tow it in "love bug" season. No problems other than the absolute mess the Pam makes. Saran wrap sounds like an idea that may work. The problem is mostly in Central Florida, from what I've seen. Not down here in South Florida. Good luck.

Love bug are a PITA, but no as much as some other invaders. Thank goodness the "Blue Hair" Season is over. These are Yankees snow birds that invade our fine state and drive 20-30MPH below the speed limit. They also like to pull out of driveways without looking or stopping and T-bone you. They leave the end of April and we get our state back.

Those little you know whats are in Texas and Louisiana too. I usually go to my dads first of June (Houston to Louisiana) and fight those dang things. I've tried Pam - PITA. I had a clear bra but no more - that was ok. Bug spray from any detail line is best. Spray, let it soak, then wipe off what you can. Spray again, let it soak, wipe - repeat til they come off easily. Follow with detail spray.
I'm likin' the saran wrap idea. Homemade clear bra.
