That's the other version of you play you pay. Glad they are alright, many times we'd be hearing about 2 dead.

OMG! Not just that they are ok but the fact they didn't kill anyone else. He's a very lucky man - I hope this teaches him a lesson on his driving skills and judgement.

I'm glad they are OK, but that was a selfish stupid thing to do on a public highway..... What if they hit a mini van carrying kids?

There was one in Miami here a few weeks ago, a guy in a Landrover split a mini van in two, speeding under the influence, Killed a lil girl in the back.

I hope they throw the book at the driver.

Public roads? I don't mean to sound rude, but I wouldn't trust him with another one. I hope he doesn't get one. I am glad he is ok, but there was no reason for him to endanger the lives of so many people.

Although I agree with you on dangers of speeding, I wouldn't be quick on having a conclusion. Since it is a Corvette, people sometimes jump to the conclusion that s/he must have been driving very fast. A loud exhaust is also very misleading.

One time I was pulled over since someone reported I was going too fast. All I did was using a low gear while passing slower cars on this one-lane state road to quickly and safely finish the pass, and I was never 10 over (which is OK in most states for passing).

EDIT: I missed that 180MPH part! Never mind my comment.

Well when the thread poster says my friend hit the wall at over 180MPH, one would assume that was speeding and not just a loud exhaust in a low gear

I agree. It's a miracle no one was killed. Considering the circumstances I doubt very much if he gets any money from his insurance company. That will hurt.
