C6 Speaker Sizes??? Crutchfield Correct?
Got a 2011 C6 Hatchback.... No Bose. Crutchfield is coming up with 3 1/2's for the dash and the doors both, and then 5 1/4's for the Mid-Panels (I am assuming those are the rear speakers) - But a local installer I go to told me that dash speaker is large... Anyone know the sizes for certain, or had experience with them? Thanks for any help...

Yes, the dash and the top speakers in the doors are 3.5 inch.
The rears in mine are 5.25's, but mine is a vert.
The bottom door speakers are 10 inch. I do have the Bose though.

I saw the same thing in Crutchfield yesterday. I don't actually see any speakers in the dash...though I only looked briefly while driving. It's obvious the lower door speakers are much bigger. After having worked at a few car audio places in my day I've decided that all rear speakers will be disconnected and top end fronts(160+RMS total), a sub (250-500) and good tuning will make an awesome system. Much better imaging and stereo than having speakers strewn about everywhere

cool, thanks for the reply guys... I looked down in the dash and it does appear the dash speaker is 3.5, I didn't realize there were 2 speakers in each door, but that lower one looks like about an 8" or so... either way, sounds terrible. I have a JL HD 750/1 amp I am gonna run on 1 sub... may go with a Kicker L7 this time... but JL mids and hi's a little too pricey for the benefit I've decided.

This is correct, the top speakers in the doors are the tweeters and the bottom are the mid-range and bass speakers. The ones in the rear are 5.25s mid-range and the dash are 3.5 mid range also.

You're best bet is to just disconnect the center dash speaker. Pop off the grill, remove the speaker screws then you can disconnect the wires. It adds nothing to the sound and most (including me) feel that sound is better without it.
The non-Bose woofer in the door is smaller than 10". Probably about 8". There's a plastic spacer on the woofer to mount it to the bigger opening in the door.

Thanks for the pics though, very helpful!

So on the non bose systems. Will replacing only the speakers make it sound better, or is it a must to replace head or add amp? If changing only the speakers helps, can someone recommend what they used?

pretty much drowns out the audio. I can't wait to get rid of the original Goodyear Run Flat tires.
Then I added a full sound deadening kit. That helped a little bit too but it's not a dramatic improvement.
A forum vendor sells a speaker upgrade package at a pretty reasonable price. No idea how it compares to mine.

The stock speakers really are crap.
The 8" door speakers can be replaced by a decent 6x9 or a 6.5.
Don't make my mistake and add 8" subs.
You will then need to add an Amp to push the subs.
Next time I will go with four way 6x9s.
Here is my 8"
I cut the factory speaker out then glued and screwed the sub in.
If you are putting subs in the doors, make sure everything in your door is tight and anything which is loose either tighten or padded.
I have heard some cars with terrible vibrations.
My doors just pound!
Even though my picture doen't show it, you do need to put a screw in every hole.
