Looks like you don’t want don’t want to receive a new Corvette built at the end of December, I think like Dec 17th. I was going to take my C6 coupe out for a 100 miles spin and then I stared to get some clicking and looseness in the wheel. Called Onstar, no help, then took it into the dealer where after 3 days they replaced the Steering Column, I told them it might be the Rack, but after checking with GM, that’s what they told them to change. Well the new Steering Column did not fix the problem, so GM told them to replace the Rack and Pinion, which fixed the problem after 10 days.
Good news everything seems fine now and no problem with the dealer, bad news I did not expect this on a new Corvette that I have driven maybe 10 times.

The real good news is you got a good dealer and GM didn't take a year to fix the problem or try and bail on it saying it's normal like they have done so many times in the recent past!Glad it's fixed now go enjoy your car.Keep in mind,It's a mechanical, man made device,it's gonna break from time to time.

And this dealer is.....where? (we like to praise good dealers as well as swear at...)
It sounds like good news to me esp. because it is most likely a supplier parts problem. I'd guess that GM will send it back to them and if there are enough complaints (which, of course, no one hopes is the case), there'll be some kind of "get-together" to figure out what's the issue and how to get it permanently fixed.

The REALLY good news is the entire magilla was on their dime & you're good to go. Just imagine what all that would've cost out-of-pocket?

IMO there’s no rhyme or reason to why a certain car (off the line) develops a problem....just the luck of the draw I suppose. I'm glad your problem was resolved and you're good to go. Enjoy your car!

Multi-Chevrolet in Union NJ is on Rt 22 West, right before the Springfield NJ border and Springfield ave. No addition info on the problem, but I did notice that, when doing hard U turns the front wheels did seem to grab/scrub almost like a 4X4 with the hubs locked on dry pavement. As this is my first Corvette, did not know if that way normal or not. Got to see if that is gone now, but I only drive the car when there is no rain and mostly on weekends.
I'll let you know hopefully this weekend.

Well I just took the 2012 C6 out for a wash and fill-up, now have 1090 miles on it and the problem with the steering is back. Bringing it back to the dealers tomorrow. They only have 20 more days to fix it or it's Lemon law for me.

I just read the Lemon law in NJ and I think I'm going to apply for it. As this is a safety issues, I don’t actually have to have the car in the shop for 20 days. They have 10 days to fix it after the first time and then it’s off to the races. Thanks for the comment on “Clicking is usually the end links on the sway bars” and whether they checked them or not. I really don’t know. I have to pay the State of NJ to apply for the Lemon and send GM a registered letter, but I might as well go for it as the dealer is putting more miles on the car now than I am.
