After leaving the Corvettes and Crawfish show here in Texas I didn't latch the top and well the top flew off. It probably wouldn't have been so bad but the truck behind me went out of there way to run it over. Needless to say, anyone have an extra top for sell?

How could you. That is almost as bad as the old folks who drive thru store windows hitting the gas instead of the break... Almost....

Great idea!

I really like mine . . . so I fasten it very securely every time.

I kinda doubt you'll find a top with that color/stripe combo for sale.

But I saw a used all-yellow top on that auction site for $300. Same yellow as yours? Just paint the stripe and transfer your latches & weatherstripping.

Or consider a transparent top. They come up for sale all the time in "C6 Parts":

No joke. I heard the gust and looked up at latches to verify they were in place and just about that time I hear a whooosh and see it in the rear view

kind of wondering how to explain this to the insurance company. I guess it kind of works out. I needed a new windshield and now need a new top so may as well get it all done under one deductible... I hope.

No problem padawan. I did it twice in my C5. Insurance covered it with no issue. Now go and do this no more.

This happened to my first C6 a 2005. Mine landed painted surface on the road.Slammed on brakes and jumped out,top did not get ran over but I almost did.I had it sanded and repainted and it looked good.A few months later it was part of a recall. They said it was the worst delamination they had ever seen.

Been there and done that lol. I was putting the top on one night and after I placed it on, a friend pulled in the driveway so i went to talk to them. Needless to say after they left I went inside and never locked it down. Next morning my girl goes to take it out and at 40mph it flies off on her lol. She was pissed. I know if I were driving it the next morning I would have seen it. Many bad events led up to that. Perfect Murphy's Law. Luckily no one was behind her and the transparent top only had a couple of scratches! Very lucky in the grand scheme.
