Brake parts, Base and Z51
I'm being told that the calipers are the same for the z51 and the base Corvette. Is that true? I know about the rotors being different.
On another note, I'm having a hard time finding rotors at a good price for the z51. Some places don't have them, some places don't know what they are. I'm assuming that when I see 'heavy duty brakes', those are the z51, correct?

The difference in the z51 and base brakes are the larger rotors and thus different caliper brackets (larger ) for the Z51 package. I also heard that the pistons are smaller in the rear Z51 calipers....but the calipers can be used on either type.

GM Parts House, a forum member, has the brackets, rotors and I suggest GM ceramic pads too, which they have.

I should have mention why I was asking.
I need to buy pads. If it's the same caliper, it's the same pads. I'll be getting HP Plus for a few night sessions at the track. I'm also getting blank rotors (no cross drills, no slots) with high carbon content. RF 1000 brake fluid.
It should be a good experiment with the car to see if the brakes can handle this.
