Transmission Fluid Temperature Question
For those of you with A6 transmissions, where does your fluid temperature normally run at? Also, how high is too high?

My tranny fluid takes a long time to come up to final temp on the highway, finally stabilizes at something in the 170' range. It will go to 190' fairly quickly in the city, but seldom above 200.
According to the manual, you get a DIC warning and the tranny may go into a kind of limp mode, at 270'. That's really hot.
The manual recommends letting the tranny cool below 230'
My attitude is:
Anything below 200' is fine
200-230 is acceptable but I don't like it for long term use
If it hits 230, I'd start looking for a way to help it cool down quickly
