You know what? When I screw up I am the first to step forward and admit I made a mistake. Such is not the case here. Should I have paid more attention to my credit card statement? Absolutely...yes! I'm paying for that now for failing to do so. But, I recall sitting in my 2008 Vert on the way to deliver the car to the guy I sold it to and I specifically remember calling XM and advising them I wanted the service cancelled. So, despite your belief that I didn't call, I did. You can believe what you want.
Are you sure you didn't call OnStar, by mistake? Just saying because, I nearly did this. Then discovered, as I was talking with the rep, it was OnStar instead of XM.
EDIT...Oh. and I was wondering about the name of your city/town.....is it true (bet I'm not very original with that).

I had xm on my 3 vettes. I sold one of them mid contract and they told me i'd receive a refund by a certain date. That date came and went with no refund so i called to find my refund. no one knew anything about it, finally got through to someone who said they gave me the wrong amount I was due so they did not send it at all. I was then transferred to a supervisor and he went on his computer that the prior person had just typed into hers. The supervisor could find nothing on record about my refund or the conversation I just had!
It took over 1 hour to straighten this mess out. Once the contract expires on the other two cars I will cancel. by the way, one of the prior posters got it right. You must send it in writing after cancelling by phone. They are incompetent and most likely corrupt.
ANYBODY READING THIS TAKE NOTE. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE XM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!

And If you already have given your card number, cancel that credit card and get a new one when you cancel XM, or OnStar.

No problems with sirius here. I know that sirius and xm are one, but their customer service departments are still separate. I hear that xm customer service is a nightmare. It might help if you create an online account to keep track of your subscriptions.

I have Sirius on a vehicle I purchased over 5 years ago. The free sub ran out and I cancelled. They called and wrote several times to ask me to re-subscribe. I never did. Funny thing though, they never turned off the service. I guess someone forgot to throw a switch. I only use the vehicle about a thousand miles a year to tow a travel trailer so to me it was not worth spending the money on the sub.

I just had a new debit card issued today because I knew my renewal would be coming up later this month. Figured it'd be easier just getting a new card # than messing with those idiots.

If I didn't deal with every company that has unethical business/billing practices, I'd have to do the following...
Turn off my cell phone
Discontinue my satellite TV
Terminate my Time Warner high-speed internet
Cancel my gym membership
Un-subsribe to all magazines and newspapers
Stop using commercial banks
Never walk into another car dealership
And cancel my XM radio...

You guy's are missing the point here, sirius XM is a monopoly in other words they are the only game in town with zero let me say it again ZERO competition. They know if you want commercial free radio you HAVE to go with them. I drive my Z only on weekends at best and foe less that a hundred bucks a year not having to listen to BS commercials its well worth it for me.

Thanks to the many longstanding threads on CorvetteForum about this, I never gave them my credit card and instead mailed a check. Thank you CF

I found it hysterical that they sent me a 6 months for 25 offer but would not give me the 77 for a year. Of course, I got the 6 for 25 offer after I cancelled and decided that I was not using XM anyway.

They do have a monopoly and that was a concern when they merged. Everyone knew they would jack up prices some how since they are the only game in town.
