a6 question
Driving the coast route this weekend (gently) I noticed on a number of occasions that my a6 seemed to be confused as to what gear it wanted. I was just crusing, and it was as though the box "kinda" wanted to either up or downshift and then changed its mind.
Will a tune do anything to alter that or is it just the algorythm of the shift program that is fixed. BTW it a 11 not a 12.
Thank You

The transmission shifts between 5th and 6th depending on elevation changes.I keep mine in manual mode 5th gear when driving through hill country. Also, don't baby the throttle be more deliberate.

OP, a tune can fix that. Chuck from Corvettes of Westchester is well-known for custom auto trans tunes. He will tune like you want it - like a custom fit glove.

Chuck is the man! He just did my trans yesterday(he had already done the booster and tune) and it is a totally different car. It is the way GM SHOULD have made them now. Call Chuck, I promise you will not be disappointed!

when the car's tuning is changed, a checkcode value is changed.
Even if it was just tuned for the transmission, the techs would assume the engine was tuned and try to not hold up the warranty
No warranty issues if the tune is set back to stock -some people think this is unethical, but if you get a trans tune (with no engine tuning), and are trying to have the engine fixed - that would be a different issue...

I just run mine in "S" all the time now after determining (through a thread I started for the purpose of seeing if there was any reason not to) that there was no reason not to. So I don't even know (or care) whether it would do that in "D". I do the paddles infrequently--- just enough to make sure they work (while the car is still under warranty.)

Call me.....
Call me when you want to know how this all works....
Some members of this forum are employed by "WARRANTY POLICE".
I'll explain it all to anyone who calls....
Explaining it on the forum will quickly grow this thread to 1,000s of posts of nothing by whining and misinformation.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm - I already know what you mean, and it seems there's quite a few that think they are bosses around here - even though they are merely ants like everyone else.
But for some reason they feel the need to PM me and tell me how to act like as if they was my Momma...!!! and when I get one of those PM's then that's me in the green laughing MAO ...
