I'm back!!
Hi Guys,
It's been over a year now and a lot has happened. Last winter the wife told me our 2010 GS was causing problems in the marriage. This was the car that I had ordered from the factory and picked up with my father. To me, a once in a lifetime experience with him. I sold the car trying to make things better in our marriage.
Well it turns out the car wasn't the problem in our marriage. I found out after I had sold the car that she had a boyfriend and that was the issue. I tried going to therapy with her for about 3 months but she stopped going. Come August she didn't want anything to do with me anymore. She also didn't want to give up her boyfriend as well. I decided that after 6+ months of trying to work it out and her seeing another guy when she was with me that it might be time to pull the trigger on the big D. We filled the divorce paper work in late August and she moved out in September.
In december the divorce was finalized and to be honest, it was a fairly easy experience since we did not have kids. After that, Match.com became my new best friend. I dated, a lot, and a lot. I'll have to admit, dating after being married is extremely tiring! I finally found a great girl who is on a whole other level than the previous 14. She is absolutely great and treats me perfect! Chalk one up for the love life!
So, since I had been vett less last sumer I've been going through severe withdrawal. I've had a corvette passion since I was 15. Went to the museum when I was 16 and was severally hooked ever since! I bought my first vett, a 2002 C5 Coupe, in 2008. In 2010 I ordered my first new corvette from the factory. A beautiful 2010 cyber gray GS coupe with comp grey wheels. The fun thing about that story was that I picked it up from the museum exactly 10 years from the date I visited the museum. Didn't plan it that way, just realized it once I started going through the photos.
Well, the finances are finally straight and the timing was right, I called Tommy Jr. a few weeks ago and we started to talk. I decided to go with a 2Lt GS Coupe! I was debating over the 2LT or the 3LT but saving around 4-5 grand really helps. I figured I could live without lumbar support since I never used it in my last one. The heated seats weren't to critical since I drive the car 90% of the time when it's warmer than 60. The memory seats while nice are unnecessary since I will be the one driving the car 99% of the time and if I do need to move my seat my settings are simple, down and all the way back. The homelike and telescopic steering wheel will be missed, but again not a huge deal.
I got a killer killer killer deal on the car from Tommy! There are a few things I'm a little uneasy about but I think it's me just being paranoid. I've always had a black or dark tone corvette. This will be my first red corvette. I went with the Crystal red tint coat. I'm pretty excited. I was also debating on adding the silver or white hash marks. I tried to tell the difference with photos on the forum but it looked like the silver might have been a little to dark for what I wanted, so I went with the white. I don't think I could have gone wrong either way. I also go the ebony interior and chrome wheels. The car looks hot and I'm now playing the waiting game.
Right now the car is on the intercity truck being shipped from Tommy's place to my house. I promise I will post the video of the car coming off the trailer and pics as well. I'm extremely excited to be back! I'll be changing my profile picture hopefully next Saturday!!!

And finally one that matters. PS, she is extremely excited about the car too!!! She's the one that told me to pull the trigger!

You look like a really down to earth guy. I'm sure your x will be the one that regrets what she has done.
You look happy with your new gal. Good luck to you both!
Congrats on the vette. Looks really great!

Congratulations. A bad marriage can be a drag. I know from experience. They can't be fixed and it isn't worth the stress and aggravation. I learned that the hard way. After I got divorced, I too have a Vette and a great woman I met on match.com. She likes cars as much as I do.

Well done.
You'll find with all Red Vettes, that they are much faster than your previous colors.
Sound's like the new GF is a similar increase in 'performance'.
Kudos.
