Been Ford all my life

I too am a Ford guy. Since 1991 I've been buying Explorers, Grand Marquis, a 99, 35th Anniversory Mustang and currently a 2009 Edge. All good stuff and not asking for government handouts. The reason they don't make a corvette-type sports car is they understood years ago there is only so much demand for a 2 seater and they would lose money. Look at how many 2 seaters GM has failed with, too numerous to mention. The XLR was a terrific car but apparently not profitable.
You will love your Vette, great car and welcome to the forum--eddie

Welcome and congrats on your new purchase...I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Corvette Forum (CF) is a great resource so you need to take the good with the bad. We've all been dinged up a time or two so just ignore the nit-wits and learn from the rest.

Reading lotsa posts from everyone and at times shaking my head at some of the childish responses form some to other posters and I think to myself why do these nimwits respond if they think the comment is ridiculous, just let it pass by, why intentially disrespect someone or make them feel like a fool. I was flamed this morning on a post asking a question.
Anyway...to put the bulls**t behind me. I ordered a yellow GS and just got a build week of 4/16. I at one time was looking at used but the deals for new seem to be to good to pass up. I've been planning to buy a vette for 2 years now and i figure 4 more weeks and my dream is gonna come to pass.

That's OK.....some of my best friends drive (or push) Fords.
Really, welcome. Enjoy that new Vette. Don't take my joke too seriously....it's all in fun.

I am relatively new as well. I too felt like there was a overwhelming black cloud over new people asking questions. I have since found that like anywhere there few bad apples. Other than those, there is an incredible wealth of knowledge here and 98% of the people here will go out of their way to help.
That being said, you also have to bring a sense of humor as there are some FUNNY people here. It is all in good fun.
Congrats on your soon to be new Vette. This was my first GM and so far I am happy. I have found that I am far happier if I look at what the car offers as a whole vs the few things that it doesn't do well.
Enjoy the car and the forum.

Vettes go a little beyond brand loyalty since nobody else really make a car like it in this price class.
I swore off GM cars 15 years ago*
*except for a Corvette
other people here drive all kinds of makes, this isn't like a camaro forum.

Lots of great people on this forum with tons of knowledge and help.
This is the BEST place to get an education about your new car.
You just have to remember that as with any venue of communication, you are going to have some post or comments that may rub you the wrong way. You have to take the bad with the good.
Just ignore anything that you don't like and you'll be fine.

Lots of stellar members here.
No need to be defensive here. You'll always have keyboard warriors on any forum, trying to be cool.
Get some confidence man!
Welcome. Enjoy the Corvette!

The GT40 is an awesome car if ya got the money $150.000, though my opinion is the Corvette has better styling. (just my opinion...some may disagree).

If you are like me you will soon find that the result was well worth the wait. Start planning your TRIPS right now---- day trips are an absolute blast in a Corvette and longer trips even better! Don't forget to wave at every other Vette you see (and all others who wave at you.)
