1st regular service
Since we purchased our 2012. Called dealership and the guy asked if we needed a tire rotation. Duh. Do you think I need to tell them to use synthetic oil?

Good reason to stay away from dealerships!

^^ They have a great deal on those checks and on the tire rotation.
If your lucky, they will only pump up your tires to 35 psi from the recommended 30 psi.
$99.00 special until the 15th of May.

FWIW, the C7 does recommend the tires be rotated side-to side, so the question may not be so out there as you think, anymore. Maybe, they didn't realize what year you have.

Check on your Regional Forum for advice from the Locals/Car Clubs recommending competent local shops.

Rule of thumb for Corvette owners, only go to a Dealer for Warranty issues, unless you are one of the rare lucky ones who know of a GM Dealer with a well trained Vette expert.

Just a damn shame that this has to be isn't it. I mean for Gods sake, you buy what is supposedly the flag ship sports car of America and then you are afraid to take it back to the selling dealer. Come on GM get your head screwed on right.
Why in the world does not every dealer who sells Corvettes have a dedicated fully acknowledge mechanic on board, it's embarrassing to read the horror stories on these boards, and its more the norm than the out of the norm.
I just don't get it

There is a person taking the calls for appointments. They don't know diddly They have a certain group of questions to ask so they can sell the most services while you are there. Asking you if you want an alignment is a reasonable question for 99% of their calls, so is asking for a rotation.
Don't read too much into this, unless you are talking to someone who knows you and your history personally.

Though we have 2 Chevrolet dealers in town --
we take ours 60 miles north to the Ashburn GA dealership where it was originally purchased by the first owner.
Despite the town's small size the dealership seems to sell and service a fair amount of Corvettes.
In fact -- their Corvette technician has a massive Snap-On 50th Anniversary Edition tool box (in the correct color).
