Stock Exhaust Cut Out
A few months ago I mentioned that I would like the butterfly to be closed on start. A friend with a V-10 mercedes said he had the same issue with morning noise and what he did was to simply rotate the butterfly shaft 90 degrees to be closed with no vaccum. Hum I wonder if we can do that also.

Some people said the OP was being overly sensitive about a couple of seconds of noise when he first starts the car.
We are staying on the 8th floor of a Florida condo, and the parking lot is 50 yds away. Last week I left while my wife was still asleep, she said that the other cars who had started in the lot did not disturb her; but when I started our 2009 NPP it woke her up.

And some people also said that Gearhead Jim, well I'll not go there. Frankly, this forum needs to get rid of folks with such negative attitudes. If one wants to play around and do stuff to his/her car who the hell has the right to tell him he's being overly sensative. It doesn't affect anyone else and is just play. You need to take your prozac pills and calm down.

As I read Jim's reply to you he was agreeing with you and defending you against some prior criticism that you took in the previous post. Reading is fundamental. He specifically noted that on his trip his car woke his wife up as he left the parking lot and that would imply that he understood what you were asking and why you were asking regarding being respectful of your neighbors.
