Poll for 55 and older, M6 or A6
Fornus seniors do you have an M6 or A6? I have an A6 but wish I had the M6 for the fun of shifting. I miss it. What do you have.

Good Lord I never thought being 55 meant you were a "senior." Some just prefer an automatic...some commute in bumper-to-bumper traffic for hours each day...some have medical maladies that necessitate an automatic...some drive the hills of San Francisco daily and some are just fuddy-duddies (said in-jest).
I race my car and I can't think of any serious Corvette racers that have an automatic transmission. Until such time as Corvette has a truly responsive paddle-shift, I prefer the precision and control afforded by the manual transmission.

I ran stick for years at the drag strip and would go 4 or five rounds alot; that takes consistency and when my transmission case cracked in half after many years I went to an automatic which slowed "Me" down by 2 tenths so I think I knew what I was doing with a stick. Bottom line is I went with an automatic and never looked back! Todays automatics are easier on parts and faster for "most" people along with being more consistent; now I say that's hard to beat!!!
PS: My wife has a stick in her M3 convertible that I drive about every other blue moon just for the hell of it.
Oh, and I think that I am the only one "EVER" to post a perfect reaction time in the c6 1/4 mile performance section and that has not been that long ago.

Had an auto in my C4. My GS coupe that is on order will have a M6.
I took many test drives in traffic and out on open roads and the M6 is just so much more fun for me. I will admit that sitting in a traffic jam with a M6 is not fun but it's not that much better if you have a A6.

Almost 63 now and I've had my '07 Z51 with the MZ6 for a little over 5 years . . . and love it. Like stretching out the gears.

Always had manual's when I was younger and just out of college. Once I started commuting daily and got stuck on the GSP here in Jersey I switched to automatic. Now retired and still kept automatic as I think my wife should be able to drive it if necessary and she will not learn manual.
Gotta keep peace in the family.

Anything shy of a DCM paddle shift Corvette will keep me in my Z.Yes, I know the auto's reprogram may get you crisper shifts but at the cost of your warranty. Not worth it imo.
