After spending 3 days at this very track (Spring Mountain) last June and driving a GS, Z06, and ZR1, the driver would make the difference on the track between these 3 cars. I have owned both the base 2008 (LS3) and now have a 2011 Z06 with the ZO7 package and for me the Z06 is just more fun as an everyday driver. You feel the difference in power and handling just getting on a freeway. The Z06 also sounds WAY better with the X pipe cross over and the NPP sensor out. I wish all of you guys could drive it. Worth every penny to me.

The LS7 is gone and I doubt that the new engine has more torque and grunt in the mid range. I HOPE it does as I will most likely buy a 2016 model if if does.

The Z 51 is no longer available as an option. The GS replaced it.

Your driving the car I would want to own if I lived in the mainland where you can use the power. Great ride enjoy.

I was only amazed by how many people have not taken the time to read what the manufacturer supplies in terms as to what each model comes with from the factory. Myself when spending close to $60,000.00 decided that the extra goodies that come on the GS in terms of handling etc. were worth the money. To each his own, I love them all. Thanks, Grant.
I have an 05 Narrow body, but agree, many have no idea what they are or are not buying. Half the folks taking one side or another on this issue bought on looks not performance, then want to argue the performance merits.

In my Vette the only performance I wanted was a 6 speed and Convertible ......For my style the rest was nice to have but not required.

The slight difference in acceleration is null considering the difference a good driver will make. I have friends in EVOs and STIs taking out waxer vettes time after time because they either botch the launch or can't shift.

Oh yeah, I bet there WAY more women owners of base C6s than the widebody. Quick, somebody crunch the numbers.
hmmmm, women always say thicker is better than narrow, so I would think they would buy the wider ones.

The only surprise was the vehicle that has performance rights closest to the C6R was the ZO6.(at least on that course.)

Its a good article when they test same day same driver. At least there's credibility when they stick with variations of the model.

Default Who cares what anybody else thinks?

As with many other things in life, the punchline on this whole conversation is: "I do it to make myself happy."

Not really, in that they never never developed a GT model, which is why I had to build my own (which required ordering a specific model with specific options and then performing some fifty-five modifications to get what I wanted).
