Default How's this for a tunnel plate...

1/2" thick 6061 heat treated aluminum. CNC cut with stainless bolts and non marring 6061 washers. Stout, stiff, light, and gorgeous:

Versus stock junk:

I know it's not or everyone, but those that are looking for serious big-boy parts, this is definitely something to consider.

Thoughts?

looks great, will a 1/2" interfere with exhaust? is that on a Zor a base? I think 1/2" with the Z's thicker exhaust is too much and will rub. I think 3/8th is what is needed on a Z or base with thicker exhaust piping
But nice job,

This car is a C6Z. No rubbing, but it does have a full custom exhaust and a fully custom twin turbo setup.

Since it's CNC, it could be made out of any thickness materials. That's one way to take a flat piece of plate and make it even stronger with the honeycomb pattern, yet lighter by plowing out excess material.

It's clearly heavier than stock since the stock is a flimsy piece of stamped 1/8" aluminum. I'm fairly certain it's the same weight as the 3/8" kits out there, yet much stronger. The honeycomb's are cut down to about 1/4" deep so averaging out, it's nearly the same weight, if not less than a 3/8" aluminum plate.

Rigidity is the key. A pound or two is nominal.

Again, this is for the serious enthusiast who wants the best of the best. A lot of detail and attention was put into this to make sure it would outperform anything else out there. There is nothing else out there like this.

Very nice! I'm a believer in enhancing chassis rigidity. On a road course it helps...not just mechanically but how you 'feel' the car through your butt and back. Are any stress test comparisons available?

No stress tests available at this time. I'm considering having someone put this into SolidWorks to do simulations for you guys. The rigidity is unparallelled, but quantifying it would be nice.

More to come on this.

You will need to email to inquire since all parts are made to order due to the detail given. Everything is one-off.

They are not a Corvette shop, but happen to be working on one at the moment. They have some really trick things happening in their current build. Small shop, super skilled fabricators, and amazing results.

If you haven't already done so, I suggest that you contact forum administrator Jim Willis (user name Savewave) about becoming a supporting vendor. That's the only way you'll be permitted to promote your products here. (You are the vendor, correct?)

You asked for comments, so here goes.

The design is attractive, but that is a very sloppy example of CNC routing. I've seen kids in HS metal shop do much better. Not to mention what a real machinist can do w/ a CNC router table. To make that a viable product the quality needs to be greatly improved.

Sorry

You realize that this is going onto the bottom of the car, right?
