clicking in the steering column
I been chasing this clicking noise that is loud enough to drive me nuts. It only does it intermittenly only when moving and turning the wheel left to right and vice versa once the wheel is exactly centered. I can't feel any roughness in the steering wheel when it's making the noise. When it's parked it's smooth as silk and no noise.
Will a faulty steering wheel position sensor (swps) make that type of clicking noise? Does anyone have a diagram of the inside of one and does it have lots of mechanical parts inside it, such as gears...etc.
Took it to the dealer and they have no clue. Drove it with the vette tech and he heard it and said it's coming from inside the dash area, not sispension related.
08 z06 stock.

For me, it turned out to be front sway bar links.

The tech checked the links and they were tight. Makes no noise going over bumps or turns. It's definitely coming from inside the cabin.
Did yours sound like it's coming from the dash, Jim?
