Chevron $4.11 high and Mobil $4.39 high!

Good thing I didn't buy the Vette to save money ;-)

Hope it wasn't a shock, it was all over the news for the last month telling of rising rates. In south Florida they're predicting close to $5 for regular by summer! Seems to happen every year as people begin to take their Spring or Summer vacation.

$4.80 a gallon in San Diego this morning, well at least for me when I pulled in. Lots of worries about Iran & them cutting off a couple of countries is driving up market prices on crude.

The economic theory of supply and demand doesn't apply to oil. Just speculation.

Many things in play this time around. No pipeline, no energy policy, unrest in the middle east and a administration that is not friendly to oil in any way. This may be the biggest reason prices are up.

Not so much, just the amount I guess. I use the GasBuddy app and noticed it had just soared within the last hour prior to the thread.

Be careful what you wish for..It may come true and the outcome may be more extreme then you wished for..

I'm getting 17 mpg here on Maui. Gas is running $4.71. But average annual miles runs around 6K per year so compared to others overall cost for fuel is about 1/4 of normal drivers in the mainland.

Is your C6 a gas hog?

Of the 11 cars that I have owned, my C6 gets the best highway gas mileage, by far. Best performance, too. No complaints here.

Gas prices always go way up on an election year and then back down again when it comes time to vote so that people actually go out an vote.

Yes they did and will continue to do so, but nothing to do with policies or politics, just profits...
