Default HRE P40SC - Installed on my Z (pics inside!)

I got some wheels installed on my Z late last week. I ended up going with the HRE P40SC wheels, the brand new concave version of the HRE P40S wheel. I've always loved mesh wheels and when I heard about these coming out, I was very interested. The wait was well worth it, they are incredible. The attention to detail on these wheels are amazing, HRE really knows how to make a quality wheel.

The finish is a 'Brushed Tinted Clear Coat' and it is absolutely stunning. In bright settings, the wheel is closer to the standard brushed silver look, just a hair darker. In lower ambient light such as the early evening or night, they turn into a much darker shade, closer to gray than silver. I love it.

I got the wheels from Gerry @ Custom Wheels For Less. Please be sure to send him a PM if you're interested in any set of wheels for your Corvette. His customer service and commitment to quality is outstanding. There were a few bumps on the road that were outside of his control and he did his best to take care of me.

These wheels are brand new and just started showing up on Zs last week, but no one has put up any quality pictures yet. I have a more formal photoshoot coming up, but in the meantime, I wanted to get a few good ones up for those curious about fitment and quality.

Here are a few pictures I took earlier this afternoon.

I love the look of the rears, the fronts look like the tires are either too wide for the wheels, or the wheels aren't wide enough for the tires. You can really see it in the side profile picture.

The sidewalls are bulging out in the front and flush to slightly stretched in the rear. I love the look of the flush look in the rear much better than the front.

Overall very nice though. As long as you like them, that is what counts

Thats what you have to put on the fronts if you dont want Active handling or TPMS issues. Same setup as stock ZR1 with 285/30/19 and 335/25/20 on them. 19x10 and 20x12.5 rears. You dont want to play with that setup unless you want issues. I dont see any issue at all with the fronts and remember you saying this before. I think its absolutely fantastic setup. Put whatever tires you want on the front and when you have issues you'll be right back to this fitment. All he has to do is lower a little more and it will be perfect.

Otherwise put a 20/20 fitment on your Z if you think this is a bulging looking. You can do a 20x10.5 and that is pushing it and 20x13 rears. But there is nothing in this fitment that would take away from its functionality or aesthetics.

Sent you an PM.

IMO, it just looks amateurish to design and produce a custom wheel and not have a uniform sidewall look both front and rear.

How hard can it be to make the front rim slightly wider so as to give it a uniform look both front and rear. I can't imagine that causing any issues.

Again, just my opinion and I don't want to rain on anybody's parade. But based on those pics, that would be enough to keep me from taking the plunge.

When you get that grandsport of yours you can make whatever widths and offsets you have in mind since you are the PRO. We can build them to whatever specs you want since you seem to be the expert. Till then leave it alone.

345/30/20 wont work on the rear of the 20" wheel my friend. Hvae to keep the aspect ratio in the rear at 25 with the 12.5 or 13 widths.
