This question always makes me laugh. Because nothing will get you flamed here more than a question about caliper covers.
How do I know? 'Cause I asked the same question here once and got ate up!
But, you know what I did? I got them anyway. Because I decided that it was my car, dammit!, and I'm not the kind of person who does things based on what other people think. Besides, truth be told, most of the people here are highly opinionated, my-way-or-the-highway egotists (I say that lovingly, of course, because most Vette owners, myself included fall into that category). And, I can tell you that, other than on here, I have NEVER gotten a negative comment about the covers. In fact, comments have been universally positive. Last year at Corvettes at Carlisle, I had many positive comments and saw many other cars with them. I even won a top 10 at Corvette Expo in Sevierville last year with them.
So, make your own decision, quit caring so much about what people here think, and make your car your own.

Not knowing too much about those covers and what affect they may have on the caliper, I would say, if you like the look then do what makes you happy.
Also, you are correct about dealing with Tommy Jr. ...hard pressed to find someone who can beat his pricing ...and just as easy for us out of staters to deal with him...

OKAY, I'm really glad I got so many opinions on this. I am NOT going to put the covers on them. I did paint the ones on my 05. One guy on here said if I paint them I would lose the corvette lettering. I pick up the car next week so I didn't realize that. I think I'm going to just live with the silver ones. Maybe later I'll paint them. Thanks for everyone's help on this.

Since you have a GS, I would have them powder coated, but for those of us with base C6 models, I believe the covers look good. Especially on the rear. Just MHO, but to each their own.

It's your car so if you like them thats all that matters. But, since you are asking for opinions, I will explain why I say no. The stock brakes on the base and Z51 Vette do look small (although they stop great) So Caliper covers were invented to make them appear more substantial in the wheels like the Z06's brakes.
BUT, you have the Grand Sport, with the cool and larger calipers (same as the Z06s), so there's no need to put caliper covers to make them 'look larger'.
I also think they look very plain, they look like covers, whereas your GS brakes look like what they are, BIG cool looking brakes. Powder coat them, or paint them, and it doesn't have to be red. Then put vinyl CORVETTE lettering on them (any sign shop can make them) and then clearcoat them.

You don't put covers on brake calipers...that's just wrong on many levels. If for some reason you feel the need to draw attention to your brakes I suggest you have them painted or powder-coated.

you are looking at 529.00 for powder coated brake calipers from zip corvette. and then you need to cover up the back of the brake pads that will be showing. that is 90.00. and you will need to remove your calipers and bleed the system more than likely to install new ones. if you are mechanically inclined to do all that and want to spend over 600 clams go for it. i get a real kick out of everyone on this forum who laughs at the members who install the covers on their brakes. it looks ricey?? yet loud exhaust, colored wheels, LED lights all over the car, and numerous other mods are cool. honest i have seen many mods that people do with their cars that i wouldn't do ever. i am on my second C6 now. and i bought the caliper covers lemans blue colored. and i receive many compliments on my covers. and the brake dust seems to stay off my wheels really nicely. it is your car. be happy with what ever you decide!!!

If you have a GS, I say no. If you have the regular stock brakes, I say yes. Painting the stock brakes looks like crap after a few months. Power coating is better, but still they get dirty and look "cheesy" in my opinion. We put covers on so many things, under the hood parts, dash changes and so on. Come on people! The stock brakes look like crap! I have had the covers on both my C6's and they clean up with just a little water hose! For each his own, but i like them. By the way, they never come lose, my brakes don't get hot and all the other BS I have heard from those who have never had them.
