Default Johnny O'Connell, Bob Bondurant and I just discussed the C6 Cupholders... Help me.

After about four minutes, we broke from the impromptu meeting establishing that they leave something to be desired. I think we all know what those things are... (Honestly, I don't even know if they know where the cupholders are; Johnny had to stop me and ask "Oh, you mean on the street version?" Pffft, professional racers.)

Give me something else to ask them? Any questions you may have for these guys?

Agree. I thought it was BG's way of dissuading beverage use in the car.

He said: "You bet I will be!"

He's also still going to be racing in the World Challenge Series for Cadillac and here at Bondurant when he's not doing those things.

He's still hoping that a ride opens up! He really wants to. We're all a little bit on this one.

Ask Bob what changes if any, are necessary to a stock Corvette to make it a reliable track car?

He said "Nothing. That's why we don't do much of anything to our Corvettes. Safety as far as seatbelts and checking the vitals of the car but otherwise the Corvette is a race car made street legal. Weight ratio, dependability and strength."

The only thing we do is 4-point harnesses, Corbeau seats, Performance Friction Brake pads, Borla Exhaust and high temp brake fluid. Bob is right and it's proven by the years that we use the Corvettes to their limit and they still want more.

If I recall correctly the vette race team is running DI engines? If that is true, and given C7 may utilize DI, would be interesting to hear from them what issues, if any they are seeing from that, including any valve coking.

Cool for the opp - thanks.

I just got back from the Bondurant Z06 school and It was really good. I wanted to upgrade the brakes on my Corvette. What Performance Friction pad compound and high temp fluid do you guys use.
