From Corvette shopping, the thing you learn really quick, though there are deals to be had and every once in a while some one does get a steal, by and large a clean car with low miles is going to still command some decent scratch.

Last vette I bought was a C4, that I bought when the C5 first came out. Kept her 15 years and spent under $800/year in depreciation. Couldn't say that about very many other cars.
For C6, I have been watching prices and it seemed that they dropped significantly here is Florida in January. Before that, I could not find any C6's at my price point, and in January, they were plentiful.
Just remember, these are nothing but (nice) used cars folks. They are not an investment! Just drive the snot out of them an don't look back.

I agree. There is a Vette owner in my area and I have never seen his Vette on the road. It's always parked under the car porch. I live out in the country. One day someone will get a great used garage Queen Vette.

Thanks for the great comments and discussion on this one! Seems that opinions are all over the place.
Some here respond essentially saying "never gonna happen" while others prove it already is happening (the links to the AutoTrader site were quite the eye-opener for some I imagine).
I think some of the "never gonna happen" contingent might just be those uncomfortable with the fact that these cars will continue to naturally depreciate, especially as the C7 makes its debut.
I think based on the responses to this thread, further research and market conditions, the educated guess is that the 20k-22k price point for well optioned clean C6's is no more than 2 years away, in some cases already upon us. The 16k-19k price point probably 3-4 years off.
I think comparing a base (or even well optioned) C6 to a C5Z06 is apples and oranges. the C5Z06 sure does hold its value higher and longer than a typical C5 but then again it was sold at a higher price point and it is a niche vehicle that suits very specific needs of specific buyers. I dont think the market for a C6 and a C5Z06 are the same people so the relationship in price is not very relevant.
Anyhow this is all coming from current C4 owner who is waiting for the depreciation to finally stop on my 1992 LT1! haha.
3 years ago I thought I STOLE it from the prior owner at $8500...now cars cleaner than mine with lower miles are going for $6000...ouch...
I have my eyes on a C6 in the future but know its not in my cards until i can pay cash...based on what my C4 is worth and the values holding north of 20k for a decent C6, Ill be in the waiting phase a bit longer...but at least Ive got a C4 to play with in the meantime!
