Default The fix is here...........I hope

Most of you know about the problems with my new Vette. I finally received my pre painted factory fender . I don't know if it matches yet but when the weather warms up I'm going to take it to Village Chevrolet (not the one that sold me the car) and see what they think. They are one of the largest Corvette dealers in MN and have a pretty impressive body shop.We still haven't made the decision if we want to drive to BG yet, still mapping out our options. Still not sure what the fix on the door will be . Until then it makes a nice addition to the family room, even though the wife disagrees. She says it belongs outside, I told her that was crazy talk.

Glad you got it. Hope it is a dead on match!

Looks like we have the same fireplace. What is up with the tools? (mine is gas with ceramic logs)

I would buy another to keep in the living room. Looks great in there!

Good luck with the match.
Hope you start to love Corvettes again.

Would you be interested in some ocean front property in Tennessee?

Let's hope the paint matches.

I think the fender could be used as a mantle for your fireplace.

with all the problems you have had, you need to have them be very careful when they take the other fender off, and keep it for decoration in your man cave!!!!

Clear Super Glue (made by Duro) fixed my door crack. I opened the door fully and stressed it with just enough force to open up the crack slightly, and then filled it with a small amount of Super Glue. Then I closed the door and let it dry undisturbed for a day.

Now when I put a little stress on the door, there is no visible movement in the area that had a crack. After lightly sanding the area and applying a quick blast of matching spray paint, you cannot tell there was ever a problem.

However, I don't know if Super Glue would work for more serious cracks. And I don't know if my 'fix' will still be good a year from now, but it only cost $2.

Anyway, congratulations on getting the replacement fender and I hope it matches to your satisfaction.

What do you mean you don't know if it matches yet ? Walk the fender into your garage and place it up against your car. It would be wise to place it against the current panel that does not match as well. You will know pretty fast if you still have a problem. Or if you can always remove your roof panel and bring it into your family room and assess the situation. I think we would all like to know what the status is.

It's been really cold here this last week but at soon as it warms up I plan on doing that. The problem is even the bad fender looks like it matches in the garage lighting. I think I will need to get some of that direct afternoon sunlight to really tell. Bringing the top in is a good idea and I will try that also. To be honest, I'm a little afraid to look because I don't know what my plan is if it doesn't.
