Default CD player

I have an 05 with factory nav. Sometimes, when I insert a disc into the CD player, the screen says "no disc detected".
and the CD will not play. This lasts several months and then, for no apparent reason, the system works fine but after a while it begins again. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Mine does the same thing. Keep ejecting and reinserting the cd and it will eventually start playing.

I'm having the same problem with mine. Some day I'm going to put in a new complete after market stereo system or buy the version 2 PAL from this forum vendor. http://www.kawal.net/nav.htm

My 2005 would do that also.
Must be some kind of a glitch.
It always came back up after the message of no disk detected.

I tossed my '05 OEM Nav and got a Pioneer AVIC-930bt! The OEM stereo was giving me problems and finally the CD player DIED.

Thank you cclive, you saved me a bunch of money. I never thought about a dirty lens, so I bought a cd lens cleaner for 10 bucks and my cd player is now working. Thanks again.

BINGO!!! I just use canned air to blow the dust and dirt out. Inexpensive CD cleaner discs are sometimes a little too agressive and can damage the head. I'll use them but only after trying to blow the dirt off first.
