Default 2013 60th Corvete and the Corvette 427 Convertible Special Edition!

Chevrolet introduces the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 60th Anniversary Edition and the Corvette 427 Convertible Collectors Edition!

Today Chevrolet announced two new special edition Corvettes to round out the production of the C6 Corvette. The two models that have been unveiled are the 60th Anniversary Edition and the fastest Corvette convertible produced, the 427 Convertible Collectors Edition.

“The 2013 model year will be historic for Corvette, marking its 60th Anniversary and the final year for the current ‘C6’ generation,” said Chris Perry, vice president, Global Marketing and Strategy for Chevrolet. “We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate these milestones than bringing back one of the most-coveted combinations in the brand’s history – the Corvette convertible and a 427 cubic-inch engine.”

...hmmm.. Convertible, Z06 Engine, ZR1 carbon fiber bits...

Will it cost the same as a Z06? or ZR1?

K, so now we have GS with Z06 motor and fenders? Why even bother to have Z06 anymore? Time for ZR1 motor in GS as well?

Well, I guess this will answer some of the speculation threads about 2013 and I guess this will put another dent in Z06 sales so maybe they'll sell 10 next year

Only in the "vert" GS I think.

I'm actually kind of surprised it took them 8 model years to do an LS7 'vert. People were clamoring for this back in '06. Very cool.

The weight reduction brings the 427 Convertible’s curb weight to 3,355 pounds

How much would it weigh otherwise? This is as much as ZR1 weighs

Nice to see that while Z06 makes do with effing balsa wood, this one has CF floor panels. No need for Orkin with this one. RIP Z06 and thanks GM.

I actually like the stripes and the cup wheels on the vert.

Low, wide, and menacing looking.
