Number of 2010 to 2013 Corvettes Made is Less Than Other Years?
I have these figures from the Corvette Black Book. Number of total C6 Corvettes in the following years:
2008 35310
2009 16956
2010 12194
2011 13596
2012 11647
2013 13466
2014 37288
C7 available in 2014. Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR-1 all available 2010 - 2013.
Why would those four years be less than the other years? Today I expect to see around 22000 made in any one year.
Thanks.

Yep, demand for Corvettes and a lot of other things declined because of the 2008 financial crisis and resulting recession. By 2014 the US economy had been recovering and with the introduction of the C7, demand for the new generation increased. It’s a shame because the C6 Corvettes are great cars.

If you were a homebuilder in 2008, as I was, you would clearly remember the home mortgage meltdown. Changed my career forever.
Went from paying pre-recession cash for a new special order 2007 C6 to probably not getting one had I waited a year or two..

If he had been a recent grad he'd remember it too. I went from expecting to walk into one of the strongest economies in history to being grateful i got a peofessional job, unlike 95% of my classmates. Engineering classmates at that, let alone the people who had bs degrees.
