Just said today that GM is about to take over the number 1 spot in the world again for production, outpacing 2nd place Volkswagen and 3rd Toyota. Big fall for Toyota in the past 2 year.
I would say yes...

Probably one of the healthiest car companies in the world now. BTW - Japan, Inc. has bailed out several of their auto companies, several times. In my opinion it's the only thing that the Obama administration has done right. It's important to note that the government restructured them, they are not subsidizing them.

Also, the Bush administration started the bailout prior to the Obama administration taking office! His administration provided additional money to keep the restructuring moving forward!
OK lets not get this thread pushed to over PRC!

Back when the bailout talk was starting and there were all the bankruptcies, I wondering... what are they going to do with the Corvette?! (That was before I owned one).
I am totally confident that the company would be fine in 2013 if the world did not end.... which I am not too sure wont happen!
I mean... c'mon... its the dead of winter and I'm outside in Indianapolis with shorts, tshirt, and winter lager in hand... doesn't taste right in this weather.

And while GM has paid back the loan, that is not all the money they got. http://reason.com/archives/2010/04/2...ailout-payback
Bottom line, as long as they continue have enough resources to buy politicians on both sides they will be fine.

Both administrations theory of shoring up and restructuring was reasonable, yet both administrations application of these theories has sucked.
