I'll never store my vette again!
So I put my car in a friends wearhouse around Halloween, and I haven't seen it since. The weather has been so good I have been seeing Vettes everywhere. Came out of a restaurant Thursday night and a guy was getting out of a nice coupe, and I said "man I wish my Vette wasn't in storage" and he says "I did that last year, but never again". Yesterday I stoped at a friends office and out in the parking lot was a beautiful ZR1. I am kicking my self so bad. Never will I do this again.

I quit storing also. But will not drive it in the snow, so it can sit for a week or 2 at a time during the winter. Not been the case this year though. Go get it out of storage

Enjoy what you can! Yes, it's easy to lament not having the vette out when it's high 50s and clear here in the Chicago area as it was yesterday. However, I do not regret having it clean, gassed, sta-biled, covered and hibernating when it's in the teens through the 30s as it has earlier in the week, and when the snow, ice and salt come, and when the even colder temps come (if they do this winter as they always do) I'll be glad my baby's tucked away sucking on his [yes, this is a male car] battery tender. One thing for sure -- in a few weeks I'll be counting the days until Spring.

I put the cover on mine about 2 weeks ago. Had her all cleaned up, filled up and away for the winter. Then along came 60 degree weather.
Went out to the garage, took off the cover adjusted the tire pressure, took off the battery tender (all of 10 minutes) and I was ON THE ROAD AGAIN. If the weather turns bad which will happen back under the covers again. Its that easy.

Yeah, I'm kinda ticked at myself as well.
I took the insurance of of mine last week (except for comprehensive), and it's supposed to be clear & beautiful until next Thursday. I want to drive it tomorrow, but I have to wait until Monday to reinstate the insurance.

Yes it does have it's own side most of the year but as I'm lazy I didn't want to clean snow off my DD all winter. Next year I'll bite the bullet, or all be hating life with all the snow.

We went out to dinner and I found the roads in great condition. I'm going to take the vette out for a cruise now and listen to some Z100.
Strange winter for sure.

I have been driving Corvettes since 1972. I have driven some in the Winter. I can say this from experience, The Corvette is not a Winter Car if you are in a Cold Snowy Winter Climate. Yes, I realize that there are some days you would rather being driving the Corvette. The other day a friend called me for lunch. It got to 65 that day. He took his Corvette out for a drive. I said no as mine is in a garage under covers hooked up to the battery tender and all but comp insurance has been removed for the Winter. The next day my friend was out giving the Corvette a full cleaning to put the Corvette back under covers. I guess its each persons choice but as for me, my Corvette wont come out til sometime in April.

Wishing I could drive mine but it's all apart. Tires and wheel are off, need new skins in the front. Cleaning the wheels in and out (they are looking like brand new). Cleaning and preping to install some GM splash guards. Installing mild to wild. Have seats out to clean and shompoo the carpets, and best of all, just took out the computer and sent it off to Chuck CoW. Be back out better than ever.

I kept the 02Z home in the garage and had to deal with the ice and snow on the DD in the driveway. I could sneak out a few times during winter but last year was pretty bad.
Now for the first time I am storing the 07Z offsite and we have had a spectacular winter (up to this point). I have her home with me this weekend because I made sure my storage spot was accessible, 8 to 8 Mon thru Sat!
After Chevy repairs my stuck open Bi-mode flaps she goes on the Ctek and back in the bag.
