Just wrap it with duct tape. It will be fine.

Really need to invest in some quality tools ....

I use Craftsman, never had an issuue ....

Last "stress test", was my inability to remove a caliper bolt on a Dodge,
wound up placing the wrench handel on top of a jack stand and slowly lowered the car causing the wrench handle to rotate. The weight of the car did the trick, nothing cracked/broke... May'be a red neck fix, but it worked.

Sure you were turning the drain plug the right way?

I imagine if you brought the car in to the dealer or quick change place and the drain plug was that tight?

Would not have had a happy ending!

Sounds like a page from my play book too, and my "Backyard Buddy" also makes a great bench press!

I've broken Craftsman sockets but at least they get replaced for free, so I continue using them.

I always spill oil all over the place. I am almost at the point where just remove the drain plug and let it flow unto the floor. I always have to clean up anyway.
