gmpp plan

IF you are determined to have an extended warranty, insurance policy actually, then GMPP is about the best there is. Many here have it, many have had to use it and I don't recall anyone reporting any bad experiences other than a misunderstanding about what was and WAS NOT covered.

After 3 years or 36k miles, you cannot get a GMPP extended warranty. So your 09 may or may not be eligible.
Anyway, definitely contact Dennis at Fichtner Chevy. I got a GMPP extended warranty from Dennis for my 09 C6. Very knowledgable and helpful, best prices.

Take your VIN number into the service department at any local GM dealer. Ask them to tell you the "in-service date" of your car. This is the date your car was sold to the original buyer, which is when the 3 year clock started ticking on your car's bumper-to-bumper warranty. If that date is more than 3 years ago (or the car has more than 36K miles), you can't get a GMPP warranty.

I bought the 84 mo/56K mile plan from Dennis for my 08 last year. Averaged out to about $350/yr. for a bumper to bumper 0 deductible plan. Have just over 6 years of warranty left.

I bought my 2005 last October with a 3000 mile 3 month warranty. I called the dealer about a week before the 3 months were up and he told me that I had until the car had 36,000 miles on it before the option of extending the new car warranty ran out. The car has about 25,000 miles on it now and I don't see myself putting another 11,000 miles on it for a long time. So, for about $2,000.00 I can renew the new car warranty up until the car reaches 36,000 miles. He said there was no time limit on it. Only the 36,000 mile limit.

BTW;
The GMPP is NOT a Bumper to Bumper, there are many things covered on the original Bumper to Bumper that are not covered on the GMPP.
The GMPP is limited by EITHER mileage OR time, which ever comes first, just like the original Warranty on my '08, Bumper to Bumper for 3 years OR 36,000 miles.

I have a GMPP extended warranty plan that I bought from Dennis for my 535 BMW and also for the Corvette.
I noticed tranny oil on the garage floor recently so I took the car to the local BMW dealership.
They actually found 3 oil leaks.
They replaced the transmission oil pan and sleeve, which were both leaking.
They found and replace a leaking Turbo to engine oil line.
They also replaced the ARS sway bar which requires oil bleeding and an alignment.
The total repair bill was over 6300.00. All I paid was my 100.00 deductible.
There were no arguments from GMPP and according to the BMW guys, they were really easy to deal with.
Buy the plan, don't wait.

I have had it in the past and they have always paid for themselves. I have an 84month/84,000 0 deductible one on my 2012. Cost me about $2100. PEACE OF MIND end of story.
