they do and i have NEVER seen a corvette in that corral.....honestly if you went to caesars with a corvette and asked them to park it out front i think they would laugh you out of the parking lot. Guys, its a great car, but in vegas its worth less than 75% of the cars they park every day.

We have been around this topic in the past.
Valet parking is safe in Vegas. Ask him to park your car up front and tip him $20 - $40, and your car will be parked all day and night in front of the door.
Also, the valet's make so dang much they won't ever chance losing their jobs by messing with your "paltry" Corvette.
If you are that concerned about it, take another car.

I would not worry about the valet at a major casino...not sure what city you are referring to but if you are referring to anything in vegas you will be just fine...its a 60k car which would probably be in the cheapest range of the cars they park considering all the germans and exotics that pull into these places. I highly doubt a valet is going to jeopardize his job messing with a corvette.

Good for you!
Obviously you've never been in a high-class venue like Las Vegas. Otherwise you would know they don't have 16 y.o. 'punks' parking cars.

Keep the trunk key!
Be sure to keep the trunk key in your possession. Otherwise, a valet can create his own working FOB, and then steal the car later if he knows where you live.
This possibility was discussed a couple of months ago in this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...ly-stolen.html

We were recently at a valet only hotel in Key West. I knew ahead of time this was the case. We unloaded the bags and I told the guy to hop in and we'd go park it.
We walked back to the check in and he turned out to be our bellhop too. Tipped well and he said he'd keep an eye on the car for me. Worked out well all around.
Now I have had some issues with valet in New Orleans but that's a story for another time...

Here's my story, the one and only time I've valeted my car.
I was attending events at the Hilton in Vegas two nights in a row. First night I pulled up and handed the valet the fob with a $20 and asked if he could keep it up front where he could keep an eye on it. He said no problem and pulled it forward 10 feet where they kept the nice cars and it didn't move till I came out.
Second night I came back and pulled into the valet line. I was behind about 6-7 everyday cars you see on the road when I see the valet sprinting towards my car. He says "welcome back sir" and I was so shocked I almost didn't know what to do. Handed him another $20 and it was safe for the night again.
Moral: A decent tip goes a long way. I won't hesitate to valet at nice places in Vegas, but probably won't anywhere else.

Was staying at the Aria this past year, ton of self parking, you just gotta find your way into the self parking lot. I agree with others, just self park it and you control where it is parked.

To keep it short and sweet, I simply give them a nice tip and tell them that I need to park it myself and keep the keys. I've never had a problem and they are more than happy to take a $20 and not have to even bother parking my car. That $20 also gets you into a safer, more highly visible area. It's a win - win.

I never, never, never allow a valet to park my 'vette. I always park it myself BUT I do give a very generous tip for "preferred" parking as well as for the valet to keep a very close eye on my vehicle.
